Just a quick share of my upcoming gift cards I’ll be sharing.
I braved the month of December to host a gift card only class. Eight in all. Here is a sneak of six –
Got you excited, right?
Stay tuned.

No wrapping paper card today! But, I did make another card for a card challenge.
This time I’m playing along with Seize the Birthday. I just love this feminine birthday card sketch this week. It really spoke to me and I have been so anxious to create something for it.
My base card is Naturals White, standard half sheet of card stock. I started off with a matchbook style card. Eh, didn’t really come together as I planned. So, I ended up with a gift card holder style card. Same basic card dimensions, 4 1/4 x 5 1/2. And, I LOVE the way it turned out! Take a look at it for yourself.
Pretty sweet, huh? I even showed the inside for the detailing and gift card pocket. I rarely decorate the inside, so this was really stepped up for me. But, it really enhanced the overall card.
I was really on the fence with this Sycamore Street Designer Series Paper this year for Sale-a-Bration. I am really lovin’ this use of it. Now, to find a special recipient for this beauty!

Week 1.
Yup, that’s right. I week left until Christmas. Hope you are about finished up with everything so that this next week can be enjoyed. For me, well, I still have lots to do. Plus, I have been sick…..ugh.
Well, on to the reason you are here. The last gift card idea ’til Christmas. I actually made the pattern for this several weeks ago. I was unable to come up with a the outside design. So, I went with something very simple. See for your self, the outside –
Now the surprise is when you open it up –
Open a little more –
It reveals a holder for not one, but two gift cards! Isnt that a terrific idea? You can use movies and a meal gift cards. Or movies and a dessert gift card. Or two favorite activities or store gift cards. Anyway, I just LOVE this idea. (In taking photos of this, I did not have any movie gift cards or ones I really wanted for the inside. So, just use your imagination.)
And, YES, it is my own ORIGINAL design!
Here is another picture without the gift cards inside –
Supplies.
This is one continuous piece of card stock as well. Finished size is 4 x 5 1/2.
A very simple card. A very WOW card.
Well, this will conclude my 12 Weeks of Gift Card Ideas ’til Christmas. I hope you have enjoyed them. Please leave a comment if so. I love comments. I would also like to know what you like about the ideas and designs.

Week 2.
It’s almost Christmas time –
And, for the little ones, almost time for……
SANTA!
Yes, this is a very quick gift card holder compared to my others. But, like I said, 2 weeks until Christmas.
Take a peek inside –
Very cute I must say.
Supplies –
These are real easy to make in mass quantity.

Week 5.
So, we are strolling along…….until Christmas.
My cards are getting a bit simpler as the big holiday approaches. Look at todays creation –
It’s a *pop up* style gift card holder. Look on the inside –
See, from the side you can see the frame-work that holds your card –
Another side shot –
And, yes, it will fold flat for an envelope!
Very cool idea. I like it. And, I WILL make this again!
Supplies –
What was striking to me in this card was the paper I chose. It is actually Spice Cake Designer Series Paper, a fall DSP from the Holiday Mini. But, to me, this pattern looked very fitting of Christmas!
What do you think? Leave me a comment –

Week 6.
6 more weeks ’til….
Christmas!
Wow.
A bit of a challenge to photograph, but, here is this weeks gift card holder –
Kind of simple. That’s *my* style. Above, the card actually in an open state. When it is removed from an envelope, here is how it appears –
But, wait. You slide it open it to reveal its simplistic beauty –
Nice how it pops up and unfolds to reveal……the gift card slid into a slot.
This is my take on a free-standing pop up card. It’s just a classy look in Real Red and Garden Green.
This shot shows how this flat appearing card is really a 3 dimensional card that stands on its own –
This last picture is a flat side view –
Quite a *fun* fold! I enjoyed creating this interesting flat to 3D beauty!
Supplies –
Well, how are you liking these gift/money holder ideas so far? Have they inspired you? What have you tried? I would love to know.
Several have asked for tutorials on these works of heart. If you are interested in pattern or templates, just leave a comment and I will email you back. Or, just email me, libbyfens@yahoo.com .

Week 7.
Yes. Seven more weeks ’til Christmas. Check your calendar.
So, I am *sliding* along with my gift card ideas. How are you liking them?
This next one should definitely *slide* into your heart –
Well, maybe now – as you pull on the right side, BOTH ends slide out at once. Take a look, and scroll through the post fast –
The card sags a bit because of the weight of the gift card. You can see it is pretty balanced without it –
Yes, I am aware that a video would be GREAT at this point – but, I don’t do videos. Yet. So, enjoy the pictures.
Pretty cool, huh? Close up of both sides –
I thought this card turned out a bit manly, which is good. Men can be hard to buy for, so gifts cards are a nice thing for them. And, an interactive gift card holder – even better!!
Supplies –
I was soo excited when I finished this card! I was not sure if it would turn out or not. It did! And, I did not waste any card stock while making it. Sometimes I make a trial before the actual card. Here, I did not.
You should give it a try!

Week 9.
In coming up with my ideas, I have limited myself to creations that are flat and mailable – within reason.
So, take a look at this folded beauty –
And, a little side shot –
It’s kind of thick. What’s going on here? Just wait ’til we open it –
Surprise! I see a card in there. What is this?
It’s a BOX! Yep, this is a folded box that holds a 3×3 card as well as a gift card!
Pretty cool, huh?
Shots of the belly band and 3×3 to give you a full picture of this beauty –
I just LOVE it, can you tell? And, one last group shot –
You can see the gift card in this picture. Nice how it all folds together to a finished size of 4 x 4.
Supplies –
(*Holiday Mini Catalog, 2011)
Whew. That was long!
Enjoying my projects? Are you inspired to go create? Leave me a comment and let me know –

Week 10.
I know, just don’t even think about it. Just get ready NOW, so you will have time LATER.
In the meantime, what do you think –
Open a little further –
Several pictures to show how this DRY EMBOSSED SWING CARD just *swings* to action as a gift card holder!!
Voila!
In these next 2, you see how it looks completely opened from the front –
And the back –
Pretty cool, huh? This shows how my (retired) greeting is under the gift card.
What I think is *unique* about this card – in the first picture, the Rhinestone Brads face the front, as they should. But, as you swing the card open, the Rhinestone Brads now appear on both sides of the gift card! Nifty!!
Supply List –
This was a FUN and challenging card to make. It was a bit tricky to emboss the *flaps*, but it adds SO MUCH to this beauty!
(Note, since I first made this card, it has become a little, umm, soft. Humidity, got to love it! The Snow Burst Embossing Folder impression is very intense and breaks down the fibers in the card stock somewhat. I think, given the time, I would have tried to recreate this and maybe layered the Snow Burst onto card stock. But, I challenged myself to create this odd embossed cutout and succeeded!)
I hope you will step out of your plain jane swing box and give this a try. Let me know what you think –

Hi Stampers! Soo much going on with Stampin’ Up – I’ll have to post/share later……..but, today, I start my 12 Gift Card Ideas ’til Christmas! That’s right, for the next 12 Sundays I will post a different festive way to give a gift card (or money/check)!!! Wooohoo!
Week 12 (I will just countdown. I know, scary just how many weeks until Christmas…..)
A very nice one to start with, don’t you think?
Remove the slide-able belly band and here is peak inside –
Removing the gift card reveals a peak of DSP –
And, if we close it , a quick shot before my ribbon gets too tired –
Supply List –
Whew, I think that covers it! Finished size is 3×6. It’s a clever way to make a gift card holder from 2 pieces of 6×6 DSP.
Well, let me know what you think – I love to read comments about what you think of my creations!
