Watercooler Wednesday 132 – Marsha’s Masculine Anything Goes Challenge

Week is halfway done. Time for a Watercooler Wednesday challenge!

Theme this week as you can see, masculine!

I always seem to gravitate towards simple, clean, darker colors.This is what I designed –

I started with stamping the ‘happy’ sentiment on the Wood Textures paper. I just built the card from there. Adding elements such as the stamped party hats and then the adding the presents as I went along. It just needed a little something at each step.

And, it’s not too overdone. You agree?

Watercooler Wednesday #123 – Marsha’s ‘Fireworks’ Themed Challenge

Happy middle of the week! Time to play around with a Watercooler Wednesday challenge.

This week, we have one from Marsha –

Oh this is a fun idea!!! Great if you having a party for the upcoming July 4th! And, yes, I went with something traditional when I saw the challenge –

Isn’t this just FUN?????

I stamped the background in alternating Real Red and Dapper Denim firework shapes from the Lovely Inside & Out stamp set first. I liked the ‘Celebrate’ sentiment from Happy Celebrations set. Yes, it was a challenging fussy cut too!!!

The stamped stars are from Wood Words set because they were perfect for this finishing detail. The star framelit is from the coordinating Wood Crate framelits!

The other Design team members all took a different approach to the challenge. See how they designed with it. Play along with us – it’s fun!!

Watercooler Wednesday #119 – Judy’s Masculine ‘Anything Goes’ Challenge

It’s been a few days since I posted last.

Nice to spend some time designing for Watercooler Wednesday today! Our theme today comes from a new team member –

Welcome, Judy!!

I went with a fun, traditional color scheme –

…..and, some retiring Designer Series Paper, stamp set and some items carrying over!!!

The Designer Series Paper has lines that make it a little shaded or rough as you can see. When I inked up my stamp, I kept getting that same lines effect! Not really sure how – but it so worked for this card!

I just thought these colors were very guy-ish, summer-ish and just plain fun-ish! Ha, ha, ha!

Glimmer Celebrate

We are having some beautiful weather here in the Lone Star state! Still, I like to be inside with the blinds open creating!

Really nice spring colors! I was a little stumped in my design though.

I created a card for any type of happy news –

You can ‘celebrate’ just about anything! I like these type cards – I can use them when I need them!

The (**no longer available) Sweet Sugarplum Glimmer paper really adds the ‘pop’ this card needed! Don’t you agree?

Happy Spring Equinox

That’s right!Happy Spring (more like summer here in Texas though)!

…..and why mark the occasion with a card??

You know me and my love of paper crafting! And, my pile of unused dies cuts…..

So, I try to use them and create something with them.

This is really just a fun card. The random flowers are my favorite part! Going with a nice retiring Cucumber Crush card base really helped the ‘spring’ stand out.

This non-Easter card shows the versatility of both the Basket Bunch and the Happy Celebration stamp sets! Worked quite nicely with the Carried Away DSP (FREE during Sale-a-Bration).

Luckily, today it IS a beautiful spring day. Guess I can go enjoy it myself now!

Urban Happy for Watercooler Wednesday #107

What an awful few days for me.

Started Sunday at class where I began to lose my voice. Felt a little feverish and just not right. Then the coughing set in. Painful, raw coughing. Decided I might want to check it out. Upper Respiratory Infection. Yikes.

The cards must go on, late or not. It’s Wednesday and time Watercooler Wednesday challenge. Penny choose a Masculine Anything goes.

I did mange to make a card the other day during the worst of this.

I am rather pleased with it considering!

I am a real big fan of this stamp set too. I’ve gotten lots of use from it.

I think it pretty cool how I mimicked the inside to the outside.

Simply a great masculine card, you think?

Celebrate Your Day

Happy Thursday everyone!

I have a special card I created for Create with Connie and Mary Thursday challenges!

Here is the color challenge –

A wonderful set of colors to create with!

This card was special because it did double duty this week. For one, it was on this months Card Buffet, and of course, it was designed for the color challenge to inspire you!

Isn’t this a great card?

It’s so fun! It’d be a great masculine for young or old!

The de-bossed image is quite cool. It’s refreshing from some of the other embossing folders we have.

I featured the other folder in the set on the Buffet too. Both were very popular choices this past weekend. This is together, on the same page, in the new Occasions Mini catalog. It’s one of my favorites!

TIP : When using this folder, or the one that says, HAPPY, before running it through the Big Shot, spritz the card stock with half alcohol and half (distilled) water to soften the paper and dry quickly after the embossing. I noticed if not, creases can form in odd places in your card stock.

Shades of Happy

I’ve been prepping all week for a Card Buffet this weekend. I always look to challenges to spark my creativity when creating the projects for the event.

This time I ran across Hand Stamped Sentiments for some inspirational colors –

I had an idea for a feminine type card, but I needed color direction. These colors were PERFECT!

I was interested in using the Celebrations Duo twice to show off how cool it is. And, cost-effective too! So I came up with this –

I love it!!!! It’s a very similar card to this one.

I spritzed each panel with half water and half alcohol prior to embossing to soften the paper. This is a rather deep impressions folder and it can crease or dimple the card stock if you don’t.

The simple, minimal stamped sentiment goes well with the repeated HAPPY. And the Emerald Envy Baker’s Twine is THE finishing touch this card needed!

I think this will be a popular card this weekend. What do you think?
