On with the projects!

Our theme this month is perfect – watercoloring!

This is not one of my stronger areas in card making so it was fun to be challenged with this.

I went with patriotic colors again creating these –

Of course, a festive 4th card! I used the Happy Birthday Thinlits and just cut them apart! Paired nicely with the Large Numbers Framelits.

And believe it or not, people have birthday on July 4 as well! Lol! I went with a birthday card too also using the Happy Birthday Thinlits!I created the watercolor background easily. This is a fool-proof method.

I placed the watercolor paper on paper towels. I dampened it with a spray bottle of water. I took a clear block and smeared it the ink pad and partially ran it across the wet paper. I cleaned the block and repeated the step in a different ink pad color over the uninked area of the wet watercolor paper . The excess water and coloring that pooled on the edge, I gently wiped off. I let it dry then completed my cards.

Pretty stunning, right? This method made bold watercolor images once dried. I did try a few different techniques.

Our theme this week is undoubtably, patriotic! And, it sets the tome for the rest of my cards today as well!

Because I’m in a celebratory mood, I went with this embossing folder –

Yes. It IS one of my favorites! It is SO versatile for many different ways you can celebrate!

I originally made the three embossed panels and stars and placed them on the card base. I decided it needed a little something. I added the stamped Brushstrokes background image that just made the card! Simple. Effective.

Watercooler Wednesday #123 – Marsha’s ‘Fireworks’ Themed Challenge

Happy middle of the week! Time to play around with a Watercooler Wednesday challenge.

This week, we have one from Marsha –

Oh this is a fun idea!!! Great if you having a party for the upcoming July 4th! And, yes, I went with something traditional when I saw the challenge –

Isn’t this just FUN?????

I stamped the background in alternating Real Red and Dapper Denim firework shapes from the Lovely Inside & Out stamp set first. I liked the ‘Celebrate’ sentiment from Happy Celebrations set. Yes, it was a challenging fussy cut too!!!

The stamped stars are from Wood Words set because they were perfect for this finishing detail. The star framelit is from the coordinating Wood Crate framelits!

The other Design team members all took a different approach to the challenge. See how they designed with it. Play along with us – it’s fun!!

Hello Friend, A Note for You

We have a really great color challenge today at Create with Connie and Mary !

Aren’t these the greatest colors? I really thought so after I started creating with them. Then, when I saw everyone else’s cards! Wow!

Here is how I used them –

Isn’t this just the sweetest? I used a new stamp set that will be available June 1st called, Wood Words. It also has coordinating framelits, called Wood Crate Framelits. That’s how I cut the chickens out!

I stamped the Whisper White panel with one of the stamps in the set. After that, I made the large scallop border using the Best Badge Punch. So cute! Of course the chickens are framelit cut too!

You should see all the Design Team creations! They are so inspiring! Then, you can link up your card on our Facebook page!
