Fun Fold Fridays – Flip Fold Card

Happy Friday!

What a dreary ~~day~~ week we are having! Perfect for staying indoors and making stuff!

Since it Fun Fold Friday! I am not going to disappoint today!

I have what seems to be a regular card –

Until you start to open it –

And move the the flaps –

Isn’t this just soo pretty??

I really really love this generously sized magnolia stamp from the Good Morning Magnolia* stamp set –

Sadly, it is retiring soon as well as these matching Magnolia Memory Dies* –

These dies were originally $35, now they are on sale for $8.75! Such a bargain!

This paper is retired, Magnolia Lane Bulk Designer Series paper. It was on the Clearance Rack the other day for a few days. I snagged some and got to creating, then it sold out. Since this is such a great fold and it was already create, I just posted it anyway!

I started with a full sheet of card stock, 8 1/2″ x 11″, scored as if you were making a portrait card, 4 1/2″, and a landscape card, 5 1/2″. Basically a + on the sheet!

I removed one of the rectangles, plus a 1/2″, and a 1/2″ off the end. –

I rotated the piece of card stock, made my folds, then got to decorating!

I added the Designer Series Paper to the card –

Front piece is 5 1/4″ x 4.

Inside first flap is 5 1/4″ x 3″.

Inside left flap, 5 1/4″ x 3″, and to write on, 5″ x 3 3/4″.

So easy! And so pretty!

Happy Friday!

Time to share a really cool, easy Fun Fold today!

A Book Fold –

Quick run down how I did these –

For the long cards –

card base 4 1/4″ x 11″, scored at 4 1/2″, 5 1/2″
fold closed like a card, fold back scoreline
adhere 1 1/4″ section on the inside using Tear & Tape
DSP strip is 1″ x 4″
DSP big piece is 4″ x 4″
tie ribbon around
add sentiment

For the tall cards –

card base is 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″, scored at 3 1/4″, 4 1/4″
fold closed like a card, fold back scoreline
adhere 1″ section on the inside using Tear & Tape
DSP strip is 3/4″ x 5 1/4″
DSP big piece is 3″ x 5 1/4″
tie ribbon around
add sentiment

For all the cards I used products that are about to retire and are must haves!

I used the Ornate Garden Designer Series Paper * on all the cards. It is now marked down to $6.00, from $15.00!!!!

You need this paper!!! Lol!

The sentiment is a favorite of mine from the Strong & Beautiful* stamp set. I always like to send it out at Mother’s Day to my friends.

I used the Story Label Punch* and the 2″ Circle* punch for the sentiment focal point. Both are retiring.

Of course, each card was finished off with retiring ribbons as well!

Last Day to Sale-a-brate

Happy last day of February!

This has been a month and I am glad to see it go!

It is the last day of Sale-a-bration as well!

So many great things to have earned free this time around! You have until the end of today if there was anything else you needed!!!

I decided to showcase the Field & Flower Designer Series Paper just one more time!

I created a bunch of quick cards to show off both sides of this lovely pattern paper!

Take a look –

The pairs of cards are all the same layout where you see both sides of the paper!

I used coordinating card stock to accent each of the cards.

And, I used the same Story Label Punch.

Lol, these sentiments are a little wonky and I will redo them before sending! We all make these mistakes!

Some retired Whisper White ribbon makes cute bows and little extra something for each card.

When opened, you see the other side of the paper as it is the card base!

I used the the Happy Thoughts stamp set. It is a must have because it contains outside and inside greeting!

So, how did I make these? Easy, easy!

To make three of the same at a time, start with a sheet of 12″ x 12″.

score at 1″ and 6 1/2″
rotate card stock 90°
cut in 4″ strips
fold 1″ strip back
adhere strip down
fold card in half to where the side with the strip is showing
center panel for stamping is 3 1/2″ x 5″
finished card size is 4″ x 5 1/2″, a tad narrower than an typical A2

You can whip up a whole pack of these in no time!

Magnolia Lane Challenge

Happy Friday!

I hope all is well in your corner of the world.

When I gave out the new Stampin’ Up! catalog a few weeks ago, I included some random goodies in the bags. Some received this –

It was a card challenge to spark creativity!

It contained a Whisper White card base, some Magnolia Lane Designer Series Paper and some punched shapes.

I decided to play along as well, because you know, I love a challenge! This is what I created –

I used all the pieces as I gave out. The flower I fussy cut and the Mossy Meadow strip I cut in half to extend the length of it.

I have already got some of the challenge cards in! Excited to see how everyone plays along.

I also thought this was a great way to use up excess, retired* Designer Series Paper too!

Happy Try Stampin’ on Tuesday!

Here is our latest two-week challenge –

Optional Theme : Cozy Patterns

I think the Come to Gather Designer Series Paper from Stampin’ Up! is pretty cozy and makes for a sweet card –

Yes, I rotated the sketch. It worked better for my design. Sometimes when you see a sketch, you just have to do that to make it work for you!

It is really a simple design using both pattern papers from the Come to Gather Designer Series Paper. this was the perfect design to create at least 20 of these to mail out to friends and family.

This sentiment is from the August 2019 Paper Pumpkin kit, Gift of Fall. It has this one for friends and one for family.

Welcome to our Create with Connie and Mary Saturday blog hop!

Our theme this week features an image to color, because it’s National Coloring Day!

I love to color! When my girls were young, this was a favorite past time for us. We we went out to eat, we always had coloring books along with the good crayons and markers! Both are artists now!

I couldn’t help but pull out this Magnolia Lane Designer Series Paper and my Blends and get to work –

I seriously could have colored all the pages!

By changing the color of the single Blends marker, you can create a totally different look in a card!

I am working on fall themed cards, so I started with Halloween –

This card just uses a Dark Pumpkin Pie Blends, that’s all! The shading came strictly from the paper!

For the sentiment, I used the Tags Tags Tags bundle, which is a stamp set and framelits.

I changes it up a bit for a fall card –

This card used the Light Blackberry Bliss Blends. Although, the card stock is Rich Razzleberry. This colors match a little better to me.

Stamp set for the fall card is the Gather Together, punched with a circle punch and backed with the Layering Circles Dies.

In the past, I created a beautiful Christmas version using this same technique. It’s just too pretty not to color it!

Unicorn Dreams

How about Whip it Wednesday? Lol, me and another Stampin’ Up! demonstrator that that was a funny thing we should do on Wednesday.

Well, here I am. And, look what I did.

I literally created this card with supplies I had already cut or stamped on my table!

What do you think? Super sweet, right?

I love to create and make stuff from discards or things that didn’t work on other projects!

And, I’m in love with this Leave a Little Sparkle stamp set! I paired it with the Perennial Essence Designer Series Paper and the Sparkle Glimmer Paper. Perfect combination!

Goodbye to Sale-a-bration 2019

I have a farewell post for a few of the lovely Sale-a-bration items offered this year.

I created some quick and easy cards using a few different products.

This was the first I card created. Simple. Beautiful. And, that sentiment!!! It’s from the Strong & Beautiful stamp set in the mini (still available until the end of May). The Designer Series Paper is the Painted Seasons, a favorite of mine!

Yes, this card. I am bummed I never played with these gorgeous other stamps in this All Adorned stamp set! I’ve only used the sentiment.

Bummed because they actually LINE up to stamps this beautiful double colored image. Since they are photopolymer, you can see right through them! So clever!

This is a Sale-a-bration stamp set you can get for free!

The nice punched shape is a Sale-a-bration coordination item, the Story Label punch. Sure hope it makes its way into the next catalog. Another favorite of mine! Today is the last day to order it as well.

The last card is in honor of the all-so-wanted Butterfly Gala Bundle.

The Butterfly Duet punch is finally available!!! The price point of this bundle you can not beat either!!! Just $35 (USD)!!! It will be available until the end of May as well, whew!

Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop – Shades of Neutrals

Welcome to the first of two blog hops for me!

This first one is my standing Create with Connie and Mary Saturday blog hop!

Our theme this week features shades of neutral colors.

Perfect time to play with the Sale-a-bration Country Floral Embossing folder and try a new to me technique –

This Country Floral Embossing folder has been very popular lately! And, you can earn it free with a $50 Stampin’ Up! (USD) order. Additionally, it will be in the next catalog too! Yay!!!

Ok, let’s talk about my card!

How did I do this? I took the side of the folder, the one markers with the Stampin’ Up! logo, and inked it up with a white ink pad. I placed Crumb Cake card stock on the other side (the non-inked side) of the folder closed it. I ran it through the Big Shot and the ink transferred to parts of the pattern!

I decorated the card using another Sale-a-bration stamp set, Part of My Story. I love this sentiment! So many others inspire us – we should let them know!

It’s punched with a Sale-a-bration coordination punch, Story Label. I hope this item will be in the new catalog! It’s also a great item. Currently, it’s available until the end of March.

I finished off the card with a strip of Soft Suede and the 3/16 Braided Linen Trim.

Quite a simple card that hits all the neutral points!

This very appropriate for March!

I decided not to go with a St. Patrick’s Day card or a good luck card. I simply went with this –

Green is one of my favorite colors! Especially, Call Me Clover! And, I love this card!!

I used a combination of two different Designer Series Papers here, the Sale-a-bration paper, Painted Seasons and Happiness Blooms, from the mini catalog.

The sentiment is from All Adorned, which is also a Sale-a-bration item.

Directions –

Whisper White card base, 4 1/2 x 11
score at 5 1/2
DSP, both patterns, 4 1/2 x 1 5/8
cut both patterns at 1 3/4 (the remaining is piece 2 3/4)
adhere DSP like sample, alternating, to card front
Call Me Clover Strip 1/2 x 4, flag both ends, set aside
stamp sentiment
punch sentiment using Story Label Punch
punch 1 additional Call Me Clover Story Label shape
cut in half horizontally
adhere to the back of sentiment with, 1/16 or 1/8 bing visible
adhere flagged strip

Our theme this week features a Unique Fold.

This is the perfect opportunity to show off a few new Stampin’ Up! items available on February 15th and March 1st!

First off, this lovely new Sale-a-bration Designer Series Paper, called Painted Seasons. It contains 12 sheets, but three of four double sided patterns.

And, also pictured, this new Story Label Punch and coordinating More than Words Stamp set. Both available March 1st.

These are wonderful, aren’t they?

And, the fancy fold for each one –

The flap uses a new punch, the Story Label on the outside. The inside and outside sentiment are from the new stamp set, More than Words.

The directions / measurements for this are soo easy –

card base, 5 1/2 x 6 3/4 (**tip : if you cut a regular 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 card base, just cut the 1 3/4 strip off first for the perfect size base. for me, it was easier to measure)
score base at 2 1/2
strip is 1 3/4 x 2 3/4
score strip at 2 3/4 (in half)
outer and inner DSP strip is 2 x 5
inside Whisper White panel is 5 x 3 3/4
adhere DSP strip to right side of Whisper White panel
adhere flap 1″ from bottom of card base
adhere inside piece over strip
adhere DSP to outer panel
decorate flap
add hook and loop dot to keep closed, optional
