Fun Fold Fridays – Circle Flap Fold

Hello! Welcome to another post and fun card fold today!

Today, I created a Circle Flap Card –

Now opening the flap –

And, again –

Sort of like a tri-fold!

I used this gorgeous Love You Always Specialty Designer Series Paper and the coordinating Love You Always Foil Sheets for the heart die cut and the heart border. So, so pretty!!

Here is how I made this card –

base is 4 1/4″ x 11″
score at 4 1/4″, 8 5/8″
pushing punch all the way in, with the 8 5/8″ score line in center, punch a 2 1/4″ circle
add a 2″ punched circle to decorate
pattern paper is 4″ x 4″
decorate however you like
I added a clear Velcro dot to keep it closed

I have made these before. They are just quick and fun! What do you think? Want to give it a try?

Fun Fold Fridays – Double Gate Fold

Happy day!

Welcome to another Fun Fold Friday!

I am featuring a Double Gate Fold card today, actually a couple of them, lol! Once I started, I could not stop making them!

I used the Berry Delightful Designer Series Paper for these –

This paper is from Sale-a-bration, the Berry Blessing Bundle –

But, I used a different stamp set, Happy Thoughts –

These sentiments are just THE best for any occasion.

I used the Tasteful Labels Dies for the sentiments. While still in the metal die, I flipped it over and ran my score stylus all around the edge to give the added line and height border. I did this on both.

The purple card, I traced the die and carefully fussy cut to have a border.

Just two different ways to use dies!

I couldn’t decide what type of closure I wanted to have.

This one has a belly band that slides off.

The other card I used a velcro closure –

It doesn’t keep the card as closed, but it’ll either be in an envelope or out and standing up.

Both are nice!

So, how did I create these? This is not a new fold, but here are my directions –

You’ll need a 5 1/2″ x 12″ sheet of pattern paper. I KNOW you have a ton of this. What crafter does not????

score the 5 1/2″ x 12″ pattern paper at 2″, 4″, 8″, 10″
on both the short sides, mark 2 3/4″ (is it exactly the halfway point in 5 1/2″)
on the left, from the 2 3/4″ mark to the 4″ score line, make a diagonal cut up
on the right side at the 8″ score line, to the 2 3/4″ mark, make another, opposite diagonal cut. (It will look like a house with a flat roof in the center)
on each side, one at a time, fold in towards the center the center most score lines, the fold back the other score line
open card up
the 2 diagonal triangles, flip and adhere to each of the ends
add a center panel to write on
add a sentiment of belly band to the outside

Fun Fold Fridays – Corner Flip Cactus

Welcome to Fun Fold Fridays!

Today I’ll be showing this cute number –

Yes, I used the Flowering Cactus Product Medley again. I am just lovin’ these products!

The cacti here is one that is already made in the kit! I just die cut it!

For the background Basic White square, I used the long narrow die a few times to create the lined pattern. It’s my favorite die in the kit!

The felt flowers are also in the kit. I chose a couple and glued them down.

Pretty simple card.

How did I create the card though? Grab your paper trimmer and I’ll walk you through it!

card base is 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″
in landscape mode, line up short left edge of card at 3″
cut from 2 1/2″ down to 4 7/8″
rotate card stock 90°
line long left edge up with the 3″ mark
notice the the previous line cut is lined up at 3″?
cut up to 5/8″
rotate card stock 90°
you have made a cut line the resembles an L
push lower corner through while bringing top right corner down
crease, it will be a diagonal at 45°
add a Dimensional to hold in place
decorate
the center flipped square is about 3″ x 3″
add layers to decorate accordingly

Notice flipped corner? It is cool from the inside too!

Fun Fold Fridays – Accordion Card

Happy Friday! Welcome to a Fun Fold!

I am featuring the lovely Flower & Field Designer Series Paper today!

This card has been around for a long while, the Accordion fold –

And open –

Lovely. Just lovely!

I am showcasing this gorgeous Designer Series Paper you can get free with a ($50 usd) purchase! This fold is the perfect way to show off both sides of this sweet pattern!

I am also in love with this Happy Thoughts stamp set!

It is all wonderful sentiments! And, some for the inside as well!

So, back to my card….here is how I created mine –

The base is 5 1/2″ x 11″, scored at 1 1/4″, 4″, and 6 3/4″.

The folding of the card, as the name implies, is accordion or like a fan!

The pattern paper is 4 pieces –

1″ x 5 1/4″ (cut 2)
2 1/2″ x 5 1/4″
4″ x 5 1/4″

One extra neutral piece for the inside writing (which I did not include) is 2 1/2″ x 5 1/4″.

The two 1″ strips go on outside and inside of the first little section. the rest, like the picture!

Happy FIRST day of 2021!!!

This year just has to be better!

And, what better way to start the year off than with a second afternoon blog hop!?!?!

Our theme is Crisp Creases, which to me implies a fun fold! And who doesn’t love a good fun fold!?

I tried my hand at a Theater or Stage card for welcoming in the New Year. I used the December 2020 paper Pumpkin, Beary Comforting for the project.

Here, the card is closed –

And, see it opened –

Isn’t this THE cutest??? These little koalas looked as though they could hug so I mimicked that in the card! Only to reveal the welcoming of the New Year in Gold Foil!

This is an adorable kit for December (January will ship towards the end of the month).

To create my card, I literally looked at 10 or so different tutorials for ‘Theater Card’ until I found one that was easily explained. For me, it was by Debbie Henderson.

The card folds flat to mail –

Although it looks high, it will go flatter. It sprung up to take the picture. It is a standard 5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″ sized card flat.

As the card pieces in the front slide away they reveal the inside message. From the top, here is what the card looks like. Notice all the dimension?

You can also see it here when the card is placed on its back. This is where you’d write your greeting or message.

What do you think? Quite cool right? And some very crisp creases needed for this!

You are Like a Diamond

Hello! Happy Friday to you!

I’ve been playing around with a new fold I ran across. I think it’s called, Triangle Gate Fold.

I’ve been using some of my Paper Pumpkins kits to try out this fold.

This one turned out very nice –

It’s soo pretty!

Slipping off the band, the two triangles flip open to write your sentiment!

To make this card, I used two card bases, 1 envelope, and the shapes from the May 2019, So Shelli kit.
I cut the printed portion of the card bases off, then trimmed both to 3 1/2 x 3 1/2, scoring along the diagonal. This will make the triangles for the gate fold.
One remaining base, I used as the rectangle Vanilla base, the other I trimmed 1/4 on two sides to become the blue inside.
I used an envelope for the part of the band along with Vellum.
The ‘gap’ on the band is covered by the included shapes double stacked.
I did use a different sentiment on the front and the Stamparatus to stamp it.
Lastly, the flowers help cover the adhesive from the envelope that was wrapped around!
