Welcome to our Thursday Create with Connie and Mary sketch challenge!

Here is our newest layout challenge –

I went all out to create a very bright, cheery, and funky fun card!

Of course, I’m featuring retiring products!

I started with this soon-to-retire, Flowers For Every Season* Designer Series Paper –

I decided to stamp right on the pattern paper! To do this, I used the Stamparatus (stamp platform) and the bold, Ridiculously Awesome* stamp set (it’s retiring too) –

Both these pieces were anchored on a Magenta Madness card base. So bright!

To finish the card off, I chose the 2020-2022 In Color Enamel Dots in Magenta Madness. FYI, these are also retiring.

I hope you had a wonderful weekend!

I sure did, but now it is time to get back to creatin’!

Here is our newest challenge from Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge to get you back in your crafty happy place –

I decided to play around with the soon-to-retire, and on sale for $6.90, Flowers for Every Season Designer Series Paper* –

This big, bold sentiment comes from the Ridiculously Awesome* –

After stamping, I used the Rectangle Stitched Dies to die cut it out. I added a fussy cut flower from another one of the pattern in the pack of pattern paper.

Happy day!

Time for another, third, blog hop for today!

We are featuring spring or Easter cards today!

I went a bright, cheery, Easter card –

Just as clean and simple as you can get!

I started with the Flowers for Every Season 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper –

I found two coordinating Easter-looking patterns for my card. This bright Magenta Madness color is a bit bold for me, so I only used it for the stamped sentiment and a small strip for highlight.

This sweet sentiment comes from the Arrange A Wreath stamp set. It has soo many great all-around sentiments!

I will make up several of these cards to mail out for Easter. They will brighten anyone’s day for sure!

I had this paper still on my desk and decided to use it again –

I used the Flowers for Every Season 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper for my *pop* of color. The gorgeous butterfly is from the new Brilliant Wings Dies –

I’m having soo much fun with these dies! The whole collection is just gorgeous!

The thanks die cut sentiment is from the Well Written Dies. Lots of great words all in one place!

Fun Fold Fridays – Slide and Lock Gatefold Card

Hello Friday! Thanks for stopping by today!

I have a sweet share today and a new fold I stumbled upon! Yes, there are sooo many out there!

I’m sure you’ve heard of a ‘gate fold’ card? Well, this is a take on a gate fold. Usually, we use a belly band or wrap to keep these type cards closed.

A slide and lock is just another way to keep your card held closed!

I created a couple of cute spring versions today –

So cute with this Springtime Joy lamb! I colored the cutie with Stampin’ Blends to match the Flowers for Every Season Designer Series Paper.

This is the Springtime Joy stamp set –

The slide and lock in action –

To create the mechanism for this card –

cut 4 pieces 2″ x 2″
two of them, score at 1″
fold the 2 scored in half
apply strong adhesive, like Tear & Tape, to both halves of each scored piece, don’t remove liner tape yet
adhere 1 folded over piece, scoreline towards center, on one of the 2″ x 2″ squares
next, adhere the other scored piece right up against the first one, scoreline right up against the other scoreline
take the other 2″ x 2″ piece and adhere to top
your mechanism will look like an ‘X’ sort of
for my cards, I added a decorated Stitched So Sweetly rectangle on my slider mechanism
I used the same size slider mechanism for both cards

NOTE – where the two flaps of the card meets in the middle, I trimmed a sliver off each side leaving a small gap. This will allow the slider to slide on and off and for the card to fold flat for mailing

Here is a flat view of the card –

You can see the folded parts on top and bottom of the card.

This was the first one I made –

The card base is 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″, scored 2 3/4″ from each end.

This card base is 4 1/4″ x 11, scored at 2 1/8″ from each end. I used the Double Oval Punch for the sentiment.

Quick Fun Folds

Happy day everyone! Thanks for stopping by!

This past week I had a Mystery Stamp & Chat via Zoom with my stampin’ friends.

Prior to the night, I gave this supply list to have ready –

card base – 4 1/4 x 11, scored at 5 1/2
DSP – 4 x 5 1/4 and 2 1/4 x 4
White or light DSP you can stamp on – 4 x 2 3/4
White – 3 x 4 1/4
paper trimmer
stamp & ink
adhesive
embellishments

We started by removing 3″ from the end of the card base…..after everyone followed my step by step instructions, we had completed different cards using the same measurements!

This is the one I made in the Zoom –

So so pretty!

The 3″ piece removed gets reused on the front horizontally! So clever! No waste either!

I also made a few more samples using a variety of products to show the versatility of the this quick and easy fun fold –

I used the Flowers For Every Season Designer Series Paper and the Happiest Of Birthdays.

Here I used the same Flowers For Every Season Designer Series Paper and the Poinsettia Petals bundle. (I created this quickly, hence the crooked die cutting!)

And this one was soo cute –

This was the Playful Pets Designer Series Paper and the Pampered Pets bundle.

When the card is opened, this is what it looks like –

This fun fold is another great way to use up our stashes of Designer Series / patterned papers!

Welcome to our Thursday Create with Connie and Mary sketch challenge!

Here is our newest challenge –

A great inspiration is the perfect time to play with new stuff.

I used the Dragonfly Garden for the focal point, sentiment, and the stamping along the side.

I thought this was a great time to use these Hippo & Friends Dies as I haven’t used them much. Not sure why, they are awesome!

I added a strip of the Flowers For Every Season Designer Series Paper down the center. The light and dark dots look light and airy like the stamped flowers.

The colors are happy, neutral colors that make me smile. How about you?

Hello!

I decided to play around with ‘hinge stamping’ and created this card –

By the looks of the card, any idea what ‘hinge stamping’ is?

Here you go – I placed the stamp from the Happiest of Birthdays on my Stamparatus near the top right, for me, hinge to the left, as straight as can be. I inked up the stamp and stamped the sentiment. I removed the plate then moved it down one wrung and repeated until I got all the way to the bottom of the card stock.

I do test stamp on the grid paper or a scrap of card stock before actually using the good stuff! Lol!

I added a strip of Designer Series Paper and an oversized twine bow, adhered to a piece of Poppy Parade and the card base called it a card!

Simple. Easy. Elegant.

The Stamparatus is such an excellent tool that should be in everyones craft room!

Stamparatus. It’s the perfect tool for perfect stampin! If your image stamps too lightly, stamp it again. Need to line something up perfectly, this will do the trick! Got a scene to create and you’d like to repeat it? This will make it soo seamless! Need to make multiple repeated stamped images in no time? This will do it! The Stamparatus is the most versatile product out there of its type! Magnets hold paper securely while stamping.

Welcome to our Create with Connie and Mary Saturday blog hop!

Our theme this week features the Hot Days of Summer.

You haven’t see hot until you’ve been in Houston during the summertime! Lol! Usually its 100°, with a feels like temperature of 110° and don’t forget to add the kicker of 90% humidity too! We know hot!

So, how about a refreshing card speaking about the sunshine??

This. Is. So. Lovely.

Looks soo easy, but these clean and simple cards are more difficult to create in my opinion.

I love this the Flowers for Every Season Designer Series Paper. This all yellow print is just gorgeous. And, notice the flower placement on the paper? Quite nice to stamp directly over them!

I used the Stamparatus to get a nice, crisp, sharp stamped image. I have found most printed papers absorb the ink and the inked images becomes lighter when it dries. Here, I stamped it, let it dry, and re-stamped it again! Nice, right?

I added it to a Daffodil Delight card base that I scalloped the edge using one of the Peony Dies. (Yes, I originally bought these dies just for this scalloped edge. Since then, I have fallen for these dies! Highly recommend them.)

Happy day!

How about a cards about snacks and beverages? I think why not, lol?!?!

I had this Nothing’s Better Than Bundle still out my desk. Perfect for the theme!

This time, how about cookies???

I mean, who doesn’t love cookies????? Lol!

I started by stampin the cookie outline first in Early Espresso, then the solid part of the cookie twice in Cinnamon Cider. Once full ink, then the second time lighter. I love the variation it created! They look soo real!

I die cut the sentiment and carefully adhered it next to the line of die cut cookies.

I played around with the layout and added a strip of Flowers For Every Season Designer Series Paper along the side. The colors match wonderfully!

I stamped ‘cookies’ and added some retired Heart Epoxy Gems randomly. Soo cute!

You Party Animal

Happy Friday!

And, a happy first post as the new Stampin’ Up! catalog has gone live!

I love the Zany Zebra set and decided to play with it today.

This weeks Freshly Make Sketches caught my eye –

And added my touch of zebra –

It’s just a silly, fun card!

The border is the new Flowers For Every Season Designer Series Paper. I also used the new Tasteful Labels in Seaside Spray to ground the jumping zebra.

The sentiment is also from the same stamp set. There are no dies for these little guys, so fussy cutting was the way to go.
