Colors of Fall with Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop

Thank you for joining us for our weekly Create with Connie and Mary Saturday blog hop!

Our theme this week is the colors of fall.

I decided to take a simple stamping approach to this lovely card –

And I think I used just about every color for fall I could think of!

I inked up each stamp and stamped it three times randomly across the page going lighter as I did. I just kept adding and adding again until I got to a point where I thought it was enough.

I got brave enough to add a stamped sentiment from the Biggest Wish stamp set in the lower corner as not to take away from all the gorgeous fall leaves.

I also stamped the word HELLO off a few times before stamping on the card. Somehow as it goes to the right, it is lighter. Not really sure how I accomplished that!

The word friend is nice and crisp to stand out!

Happy Saturday!

Time to show off what we are working on!

Our theme is anything we are working on!

Well, how about thank you cards?!?!

A great simple layout for mass production!

Easy, peasy, and soo cute!

Since the larger piece of Designer Series Paper was striped, I alternated the cards for interest. I was making several more than pictured!

This fun paper is the hostess, Pattern Party Designer Series Paper. I love it! Totally great for these kinds of projects as you get 4 sheets of each pattern in the package, 48 total (yes, you read that correctly, 48)!

This sweet sentiment is the Biggest Wish stamp set, another quite versatile, must have, set to have !

Fun Fold Fridays – Spanner Card

Happy Friday my stampin’ friends!

Sorry I missed last week – sometimes it happens.

I usually create by the seat of my pants – aka – last minute – and this week is no different.

I’m prepping for a Card Buffet this weekend and was looking for one more card to feature……well, will it be this clever fun fold?

This is the card flat.

As you open it…..

….and again!

I had never seen this fold before! It is called a Spanner Card! Yes, Spanner! As in ‘span across’, because that is what this card does.

I was like WOW ! And, I just had to try it.

It is very simple and starts with a regular card base of 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″.

The clever part comes in when you cut from the scored line, on the same side, 1 1/4″ from each end. This creates 3 flaps from the front piece.

I added a strip of a Window Sheet across the top of the card only adhering it to the outer flap / strip portion. When I added my Expressions in Ink Designer Series Paper strips, it covers the adhesive!

I used another piece of DSP on the middle flap. And, that same pattern on the inside of the cards outer edges (see when fully opened).

I used the coordinating gold stripe piece on each of the sides on the front. It is also in the same pack of paper.

The beauty of this card is the gold foil ‘happy’ on the top and middle pieces. It is from a new holiday set, Christmas Cheer –

I think I bought this just for the large ‘happy’ and ‘cheer’ words themselves!

I advise adhering the middle ‘happy’ first, then the top one over it to line it up perfectly. The top one is only adhered on the edges so the glue would not show when opened.

I already have a special birthday in mind for this card! She will love it as she always gives me over the top cards!

Hello my Saturday friends, again!

How about another blog hop to inspire you?

Our theme today is a fun one, CASing the catalog! So, go grab your catalog and be prepared to flip through it to find our inspirations!

I am going with a card on page 170, near the spine of the catalog. Here is my take in it –

I pretty much copied the card, just changing the orientation.

I overlooked it until we had this challenge, then I was looking at all the samples in the catalog – WOW, so many card to inspire us!

I started with the Pattern Play Designer Series Paper, die cutting this nice rectangle using the largest rectangle from the Scalloped Contour Dies.

The stamp is my favorite, Biggest Wish. I love it because it is soo bold and it stamps beautifully! I did fussy cut the ‘hello’.

I think any friend would be soo happy to receive this card! What do you think?

Welcome to our Create with Connie and Mary Saturday blog hop!

Our theme this week features cards with borders, tags, or both!

I decided to play with the new Basic Border Dies –

I created a simple card using the pointed die –

It created a wonderful contrast against this black pattern paper. Both of these fabulous pattern papers are from the Pattern Party Designer Series Paper that you can earn from hosting a party. It’s also 48 sheets!!!

I used my favorite stamp set, Biggest Wish for this fun card!

The stamp is clear and stamps soo well! For stamped images like this, I don’t even have to use the Stamparatus!

I like the angles and lines in this card. It funky, it’s fresh!

And when opened, you still have space to write!

I look forward to creating more with these dies. They are just so awesome and can be used in soo many ways!

I decided to have each panel stamped instead of Designer Series Paper –

My color inspiration was from the ~~soon-to-retire~~ now retired Well Suited Designer Series Paper.

I like the boldness of the Biggest Wish stamp set. So I used it again! The Stamparatus worked quite well to line it up.

This makes for a quick and easy masculine card! Wouldn’t you agree?

I’d like to share these cards I made for my Zoom Open House attendees –

I used my favorite stamp set, Biggest Wish –

It is photopolymer so it makes to stamp!

I also added a strip of Hostesses Designer Series Paper, Pattern Party, also a favorite of mine!

It is 48 sheets of 12″ x 12″ paper heaven! Notice the the black and white patterns on one side?

A thin strip goes along way!

As you can see, one has the added rhinestones. I just couldn’t decide, with or without them.

I made two, yes, two. Because…..because I couldn’t find my acetate for the window part of the card!

But, I did, then made this –

So cool!

I started with the Ice Cream Corner Designer Series Paper for both cards!

I used different patterns of paper for each card.

I used my favorite Biggest Wish stamp set too –

Perfect pair I’d say!

Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop – New In Colors

Welcome to our Create with Connie and Mary Saturday blog hop!

Our theme this week features all the new 2021-2023 In Colors in one card!

So excited for this as I get you use my favorite stamp set from the new catalog, Biggest Wish –

This is how I used the stamp set and all the new In Colors –

And, of course, the Stamparatus!

It totally made stamping the bold BIRTHDAY easy easy! I placed the bold stamp on the Stamparatus towards the top, inked it up, and stamped. I cleaned the stamp, moved it down one notch and repeated the process with all the In Colors!

The overlay ‘hello friend happy happy birthday’, was also stamped using the Stamparatus and Black Memento ink. It came out nice and crisp!

For a little added interest, the strip of black and white True Love Designer Series Paper was the right added touch!

This is my favorite card I’ve made with the In Colors so far. What are your thoughts on it?

Happy Monday!

We have a new sketch over at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge –

Pretty fun starting point for playing with new stuff! Stampin’ Up just had a new catalog release last week.

I am playing with the new Sweet As A Peach Bundle –

And, the coordinating Designer Series Paper, You’re A Peach –

I created a really sweet card here –

I cut the pattern paper first, added a strip of the new Pale Papaya, and added the stamped, die cut peach.

I went with a sentiment from the Biggest Wish stamp set, a favorite new stamp too!

I hope I have inspired you by this peachy card!
