This week, a new layout challenge –

I have this lovely Needlepoint Nook Designer Series Paper that I just haven’t played with enough!

I used the coordinating stamp set, Needle & Thread, for the sentiment.

The ‘butterflies’ are from the soon to retired, Sunshine Wishes Thinlits. Those have been a favorite of mine and well used.

Welcome to our Thursday Create with Connie and Mary challenge!

Here is our newest color challenge –

I played with the Be Mine Stitched Framelits creating this –

I love the detailed heart border it creates! But then, you also cut all these wonderful little hearts! I used two card stocks colors to create the look. I carefully glued the hearts in place.

The die cut sentiment comes from an all time favorite of mine, the Sunshine Wishes thinlits.

It’s tied off with a pretty light bow using the Whisper White 5/8 Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon.

It’s just sweetly done!

Happy Saturday my stampin’ friends! Time for a Create with Connie and Mary Saturday blog hop!

Our theme this week still features 90’s song titles. Cards this week are created with black or white or both only – no colors!

Well, this is right up my alley! These are my favorite colors to create with!

I pulled out these tried and true Sunshine Wishes Thinlits for this –

I placed those on top of a black and white strip of Tropical Escape Designer Series Paper.

It was finished off with a simple, bold sentiment from Perennial Birthday.

I love this! I can’t wait to send it out!

Sweet Swirly Congrats

Welcome to another inspirational sketch from Create with Connie and Mary!

As always, our sketches are so easy to use! This one is no different!

I hadn’t played around with the Swirly Scribbles Thinlits in a while. Decided it was time to dust them off! They seemed perfect for this sketch!

I created this simple number –

Look closely at the swirls. See anything different? I decided to use a new upcoming In-Color, Powder Pink! It really is close to the current two pinks Stampin Up has, Pink Pirouette and Blushing Bride.

This card is simply elegant! It would make a great card to congratulate someone on a variety of occasions, birthday, wedding, new baby, job – you name it!

All the elements are adhered flat to the card using Tombow Liquid Glue. Tip : to adhere the acetate, add tiny amounts of glue to the just a few of dots on the back of the acetate. That way, they will be camouflaged!

Ahhhh, time for great inspiration from Watercooler Wednesday!

Marsha chose a favorite for me.

Masculine theme. And, anything goes!

I guess I was thinking’ of the sweet hubs when I created this –

It’s a lot of silver foil. It doesn’t photograph well. But. In person, awesome! I am totally a fan of this background! It’s one of those thicker embossing folders. I hadn’t used it yet…….story of a crafters life, right?

I just stamped all the flowers and then filled in with the leaves. I added a stapled piece of Very Vanilla twine just under the words. The perfect little touch!

CCMC Saturday Blog Hop – Color It

Our theme is Color It. That could be lots of things! Stamped images, dies cuts, coloring paper.

Perfect timing to pull out this Sale-a-Bration DSP!

I made a 3 1/2 x 5 fold over acetate card –

libbystamps, stampin up, Inside the Lines, Sunshine Wishes Thinlits, Watercooler Pencils, CCMC Blog HopIt’s pretty. It’s fresh! I used the new Watercooler Pencils to color the flowers first. I went over them with a blender pen to soften to look of everything.

I added the acetate to the back of the DSP, then adhered it to Daffodil Delight. For a little added weight to the card front, I added the sentiment and double strips (one on front, one underneath) of card stock along the edge. I also put one on the card base for jotting down a note.

Hope, Is on The Way

Should read, help. Help is on the way…..

A have a couple of friends who have RA, Rheumatoid Arthritis, (recently noted, Shelli Gardner, Stampin’ Up! founder does too) and the days can be unpredictable in how they feel.

Lately it’s been really rough for one of my friends. Luckily, today she go in to have a procedure to get some relief. Praises for her! And, of course, I had to create a card for her!

I originally cut this piece of DSP, a FREEBIE with Sale-a-Bration, and looked at the images that we created by the cut. I really liked the bee on the flower on the right side. That became the area in which I created around.

I thought the die cut sentiment and stamped image was pretty appropriate.

All in all she will ‘get it’. She’s just that way!

Side note when designing a card with a dark base with an angled front DSP panel, make the inside writing area, angled the same way too!

We Create the Love for February Blog Hop

These two cards are for We Create! Our theme we work with is to either create a card then step it up or create two cards using the same layout. I chose to sort combine the two ideas.

It’s stamped repeatedly. So simple, adding a silver heart highlighting ‘you’.

I added a Real Red heart and tiny stamped hearts for added effect.

Blogging Friends Blog Hop – February

Welcome to our February Blogging Friends Blog Hop, the month of love!

This was quite convenient for me.  My hubs was going to visit his mother (in Holland, we’re in Texas) for her birthday. I always like to make him love notes to stash in his suitcase!

I went with the Sunshine Wishes Thinlits from the big idea book and catalog. I paired it with a 6×6 DSP stack from the mini, Sending Love.

I wanted to show you the versatility of our dies and to use every part of it.

In this first card, I used the outer part of the heart die cut –

I paired it with the inner part of the love die. I did plan that I would be using the outer portion and started with a square to create a 3×3 card.

Most people only use this portion of this die, the sweet, scribbly heart –

Of course, it’s a great choice because it’s just too cute. You can see that I used it with the outer portion of the love die this time. I also don’t want to waste any of the Glimmer paper either!

It’s kinda funky and I really like the style of it! (I had a Card Buffet a couple of weeks ago and we used the inner part of the U’s then – I saved the outer parts!) This card just says, love U! How sweet is that?

Hugs Kisses

Tuesday finds me in a way more creative mood than Monday. I was SO itching to create something – anything. It just wasn’t happening. You ever have days like that?

Five Card Friday

Last weekend I had a wonderful Card Buffet. I usually post my selection board on Facebook and Instagram for all the attendees to see. Then, if I get time, I post the individual cards in subsequent posts. Well. I didn’t take the time to do that.

Instead, I decided to post the five I hadn’t blogged about today. Get ready to pin some great cards!!!

This was card 1 –

It was actually a card I created here. This time, for class, I added the additional colors to show two-step stamping. It seemed no one had trouble lining it up either! My biggest concern…..

I had just received a stamp order right before the class. This Stylish Stems Bundle was in the order and I had to play with the Stylish Stems Framelits –

This became another card on the board because I just loved the simplicity of how to create it!

This stamp set, Beautiful You is quite popular right now. So, I just had to show it off as well.

You can’t tell in the picture, but her dress and hat are colored with Wink of Stella! Nice touch in person along with the Silver Glimmer strip!

I like to create at least two cards on the board choices that use the same stamps or DSP to show the versatility of the products. Here, I used the Tie Dyed set again, combined with the Sale-a-Bration set, So Very Much.

What a great combination! Both are bold and big. It was also very quick and easy!!!

The last card I’ll share today was also another card I had previously shown. You can see it here. However, fussy cutting is not everyone’s favorite thing to do! Imagine that????? So. I change this design up a bit!

This was a fun card to create as it involves NO stamping! Oh, and, I also changed up the embossing folder I had used s well.

No Reason for a Card

Whew. I managed to get through my Card Buffet this past weekend – it was SO much fun. I posted pictures here.

Now, to get back to my routine card making! It’s Wednesday, time for a challenge from Watercooler Wednesday!

Today, our challenge is this –

I usually love a Masculine challenge. Today, my creativity is a bit on the not-so-creative side. But, that’s ok. We all have days like this.

Love Squared

Continuing the love today for Create with Connie and Mary!

We have a layout challenge today –

I immediately pulled out my Sending Love DSP and got to creating this card –

It came together in a flash and matched the sketch to a T!

After corner rounding, I adhered the outer diagonal squares together first. Then, the opposing ones. Once those were together, I used dimensionals to pop this up a bit.

The center heart is actually the middle piece of that die cut stringy heart. I just cut it twice in the two colors. I saved the unused hearts for later (tomorrows card!). Always keep those scraps like this. Even the border from cutting this out.

I had already stamped the border and the love sentiment. I added the focal point and rhinestones and I was done!

So. What do I do to get inspiration? Card challenges. I look at card challenge to spark my creativity.

Today, I ran across Stampin’ Girls Gone Wild –

I came up with this –

I had a bunch of scrap pieces from other projects I’d been working on this week lying around. Ironically, the were sort of stacked in this very way!!! This sketch was just calling my name!

I figured why not? Will it make the class next week? Time will tell……

Valentine Love

That’s right. That holiday will be here before we know it too!

Over at Create with Connie and Mary this week, we have a great color challenge that inspired my card for Valentine’s.

Well, I got creative this time with a non-stamped card –

It was a bit hard to photograph the front because of the front panel.

This is a side view for a better explanation. The hearts are adhered to the front of the card over the ‘window’.

I added the ‘love’ sentiment from the same set of framelits!

When the card is fully opened this is what it looks like!

The Whisper White panel does extend onto the back of the red panel.

I can’t wait to leave this for the hubs later in the month. I forget to leave cards around for my family. They really do enjoy receiving them still!

Hope and Sunshine Wishes

I love to repurpose products that I buy. You know, getting THE most bang for the dollar.

My share today is no different.

I created this card a while ago and have been waiting to share it. October seemed to be the right time for this –

I used the Sunshine Wishes Thinlits, the heart framelit. I used both of the pieces, the heart itself and what is left after you cut it out!

For the ‘ribbon’, I cut it in half then re-glued it together to resemble the awareness ribbon. Very easy I must say.

I made a few more in alternating pink colors too. This way, I had the open heart panel as well.

The word ‘hope’ was another framelit in the set. I just placed gray card stock behind it. Rather simple too.

I ran ribbon around the card and tied it off. I then placed the panel on top of the ribbon. Worked like a charm!

These are quite simple and several can be created in no time!
