Happy Saturday! Welcome to our Create with Connie and Mary Saturday blog hop!

Our theme this week features shades of blue.

I pulled out the Stamparatus again to play with a repetitive stamp design –

Actually, two!

I have started pulling the Stamparatus out a lot lately! It saves on wasting nice card stock, most of the time!

I placed the HAPPY BIRTHDAY sentiment on the plate towards the top of the clear plate. (To test the stamping of the image, I used scrap paper.) I inked it up, stamped it. Took the off, moved it down and repeated this as far down as I could.

To add the cursive sentiment, I placed it between two stamped HAPPY BIRTHDAY’s. I closed the plate to pick it up. I added a thin piece of copy paper that I could see through. I stamped the cursive sentiment. You might have to do this a few times, but when it looks correct, remove the thin paper and stamp onto the test paper.

It looked really good so I added the Whisper White card stock and stamped the images as I tested them. This sounds like a long process, but it’s really not.

I’ve noticed the more you use the Stamparatus, the more easy to use it becomes.

I looked at the Perennial Birthday stamp set to see what flowers I could add to my card. Conveniently, the flower in the Happiness Blooms Designer Series Paper are pretty much the same! I used the DSP and Blends to color it. Win!

I added an even strip to the side and that was it!

I really like the way this turned out. I can’t wait to mail it out!

Happy Try Stampin’ on Tuesday!

Here is out latest two week challenge –

Optional Theme : Brown Paper Bag

Fail. I didn’t use any brown paper bag. I did however turn the sketch on the side and use bold and bright colors, totally opposite of a brown bag!!!

This is a wonderfully cheery, fun, perfect for summer, birthday card!

I used the Happiness Blooms Designer Series Paper along with the Broadway Birthday bundle. Two opposites that come together nicely here!

Nifty tip / trick. I cut the DSP panel 3 1/2 x 5 1/2 and scored it at 1/2. I folded that over because I wanted to use both sides of the paper! I adhered the folded over strip down and of course the panel to the card.

Another nifty tip, after I cut the word WISH, I took the remaining border to use as a guide where to adhere the letters! This word is written funny, so every time before I’d go to adhere it, it was all wonky. I took care of that by doing it this way.

A Friend is Thinking of You

Happy Sunday! And, happy St. Patrick’s Day!

I ran across Sunday Stamps and their 200th sketch! Now, that’s something to celebrate!

These are my favorite kind of sketches, simple! I was immediately inspired!

Perfect for pulling out the Cat Punch! Again! And, one of my favorite Designer Series Papers, Happiness Blooms.

Adorable, right???

My inspiration is my own two cats! They are always in the oddest places looking in on me! Especially the newest one, Cranston.

Since I’ve become a cat person, this card will be very appropriate to send to any of my friends! Wouldn’t you agree?

Make a Grand Wish

Welcome to our Thursday Create with Connie and Mary challenge!

Here is our newest challenge –

This is a favorite layout for me!

I created a lovely birthday card –

This bold statement from the Life is Grand stamp set, along with the Happiness Blooms Designer Series Paper work soo well together! This is bold, bright, fun and cheery!

I featured this card at a few recent Card Buffets.

This card shows a great technique, although not sure what it is call. Here is how I did it –

stamp sentiment on card stock
place framelit shape over sentiment taking note what would not be cut out by the framelit (here, the upper portion of the ‘h’)
trim both sides of letter / image that won’t be cut out by the framelit
place framelit around sentiment / image placing cut portion on top of framelit
run through Big Shot
use on card
