That little half circle is an indication to pull up on the card.

I figured you could just see them all next to each other to get the effect!

Navy Thanks, Simple Saturday

I have a really elegant share today as part of Simple Saturday.

Nothing quite says elegant as the colors navy and white. Clean. Crisp. Stately.

I needed Thank You cards for last weeks Card Buffet attendees. I used this design –

I added the DSP inside because I had these scraps left over. Also because my paper trimmer decided to ‘snack’ on the paper as I was cutting it. This hid it well!

Hello Pineapples, WWC81

I have got a playful mid-week card share for you today!

It’s Watercooler Wednesday and we’ve got a color challenge for you to play along with!

Gail selected some really nice colors.

I started by gathering my card stock pieces in these colors. I grabbed some framelits I thought would work. Nope.

Went to a stamp set and stamped a few images and then die cut those. Didn’t work either.

I even instilled my creative daughter in the process for trying to come up with a design. Nope.

Nothing.

Then. This happened.

So pleased! I haven’t played with this set yet! I like how it turned out.

The pineapples were inked up and stamped twice before re-inking. Love this technique. (It also eases the cleaning of your stamp too!! Bonus!)

I stamped the sentiment and punched it out. The nice decorative circle is from the Layering Circles Framelits. With so many different sizes included – I should have not used the punch. Looks like I need a new one here.

Anyway, as you can see from the others designers creations, you can do a lot with these colors! Come join us at Watercooler Wednesday – we’d love to see what you create!

Celebrate Summertime

Ha! Ha! I have to laugh. Because not too many people want to ‘celebrate’ a Texas summertime heat. Where the temps reach 100 and so does the humidity!

However, many of you would like to celebrate summertime! As do the designers over at Nacho Average Challenges –

That’s right. This is their current challenge and I just had to play along!

Summertime makes me think of sitting on a beach –

So, that’s where I went with my design.

I made my water a pretty torn Dapper Denim and Marina Mist blue. Had it been in Galveston’s water, it’d been brown.

I did kind of take a cue from our gorgeous Texas skies by adding the big fluffy clouds! The beach ball just seemed an appropriate ‘pop’ of color the card needed!

When I created this card, I used scrapped stamped images. For the life of me, I can not remember how cut out the word Celebrate out. It’s perfect – but I can not tell you why! But, it looks awesome on the card!

Elegant Happy Birthday, WWC79

It’s Wednesday. You know what that means. Time for a Watercooler Wednesday Challenge!

I really like how this all one color card turned out.

Using the embossing folder in three directions added just little pop of flair this all white card needed.

Who’s Counting, 80 Birthdays

Quick post today.

Yep, as the title implies 80 birthdays. Well, who might be having these 80 birthdays you ask?

Well, this lady –

And, I made her a card of course to celebrate these 80 birthdays –

Something rather simple, but elegant.

It has lots of dimension as you can see. All the layers are popped up.

I used the retired Brushed Gold card stock for the one layer. The 8 0 is in the Gold Foil we currently have. I wanted that to be the focal point here.

And, I even stamped my own background – freehand!! I’m lovin’ this stamp set, Jar of Love. It’s quite versatile!

As you can see, I’ve got some celebrating to do. I’m taking a break from crafting today.

Mouse, Cheese and a Nacho

Ahhhh, to just be playing with punches and framelits and stamps just for fun!

Long ago, I used to participate in Nacho Average Challenges and now their back with challenges! Yay!!!

Just look at this simply wonderful sketch –

I was drawn to it! I just had to play.

And, that’s just what I did –

Isn’t this the cutest little mouse? It’s that new Fox Builder Punch!

This just made for a simply adorable card!!

I used the new Layering Circles Framelits to make all the cheesy holes too. Couldn’t be any simpler.

Since it does put holes in the card, it made it a little flimsy to stand tall for pictures.

When the card is opened, you can fully see the back of the mouse and how he is assembled. He’s even cute from the back!

Sunny Beach Day Fun

I don’t know about where you’re at, but, here, it’s  H O T  !!! Not only is the temperature up there, at 93, it’s also 100% humidity! And, the feels like temp…..I won’t even go there.

As a matter of fact, I’m not going anywhere – too hot. Staying indoors.

I decided why not cool off with a card –

July Blogging Friends Blog Hop

Well, another month has passed! Time to receive lots of craftin’ goodness from me in a couple of posts for the day. This one is the Blogging Friends Blog Hop.

Our theme this month is S U M M E R !

For me, that’s a little hard! Our summers here are humid scorchers! And, unless you live in Texas, you’ll never quite understand just what I mean….

I created two cards that are bright and fun and remind me of summer. This first one goes without sayin’ –

Remember, I said scorcher! Gold foil Sunburst with the new Layering Circles Framelits. It’s a no-stampin’ card because, well, there’s no stampin’ here. The sentiment is from the Sunshine Wishes Thinlits (currently, my favorite).

When I cut this, I placed the foil good side out to get a reversed burst here. I also glued down just the center and used Dimensionals on the edges for depth. Hard to photograph, but, it’s there.

Then, the other thing that comes to mind for summer is beautiful flowers. The real kind that require little hydration! So I used the same Sunshine Wishes Thinlits to create this –

I cut two out and over lapped them. I adhered then to Melon Mambo card stock and cut them out. It makes for a stunning flower using the same Layering Circles Framelits for the center. It’s simple. Bold. Elegant. Fun.

I had fun coming up with this –

I think this is a loose interpretation of the Bargello technique.

Mine uses very wide strips of the 2016-2018 In-Color Envelope Paper.

I was such a big fan of the last In-Color Envelope Paper (its since retired). I used it quite a bit instead of the DSP. It’s also a bit less expensive. This time I love both patterns. The other os a bubbly dot pattern of sorts.

Since there was very little of the Sweet Sugarplum used here, that became my background border color and what I used for the cool new scalloped circle around the focal point.

Such a fun way to show off these new colors and new products!
