Thank you for joining us for our weekly Create with Connie and Mary Saturday blog hop!

Our theme this week is Halloween tree themed cards.

I went out on a limb for this –

I created a spooky scene combining the Bag of Bones Dies with the Aspen Tree Dies (remember these?). I just kept adding creepy stuff until I felt it was done! The moon behind the trees and the bones even glows in the dark!!!

This is a great color combination : Blackberry Bliss, Wild Wheat, Pebbled Path, and the Glow in The Dark paper! Of course th other colors add to the depth.

For added detail, I embossed the inner tombstone with the Timeworn Type as it really resembles an old headstone that the letters have since worn down.

I have to chuckle. Personally, I have two cats. I see one of them left their presence on my card and I just now noticed it. Convenient placement girls, convenient placement. I decided to just leave it. Let me know if you find it. Lol!

Perfect time for a sweet Halloween card –

Pretty funny, huh? I don’t have any Stampin’ Up witch stamps this year, so I created one from one of the skeletons in the Cute halloween Designer Series Paper –

CUTE HALLOWEEN 6" X 6" (15.2 X 15.2 CM) DESIGNER SERIES PAPER

I improvised and colors the face with a Stampin’ Blends in Granny Apple Green. I also added a witch hat to create her.

The hat came from the Clever Cats stamp set –

To get a perfectly stamped image, I used the Stamparatus to stamp it. Yes, it was fussy cut!

I love how you see both sides of this Cute Halloween Designer Series Paper!

CUTE HALLOWEEN 6" X 6" (15.2 X 15.2 CM) DESIGNER SERIES PAPER

To make the card –

  • base, 4 1/4″ x 7″, scored at 5 1/2″
  • DSP, 4″ x 5 1/4″
  • inside piece, 3 7/8″ x 5 1/8″
  • fold over 1 1/2″ flap
  • adhere inside piece first
  • adhere DSP to inside of card leaving 1/8″ border all around
  • tie ribbon around
  • adhere pumpkin
How did I create this small, larger pumpkin? I cut three pumpkins from the Halloween Punch, trimmed away the stems and stacked them.

Getting ready for Halloween yet? Well, I am. I just LOVE this time of year. My favorite is the variety of pumpkins that are about everywhere.

I took my favorite thing, pumpkins, and turned them into Jacks as one of my projects for my recent stamp class – 

Easy. Easy. Easy. I demonstrated these using a Crimper and the Elegant Lines Embossing Folder. Both will work. Both look cute! Use what you have. The face is made with the Petite Pennants Builder Punch.

A little tip, if you go the route of the crimper, cut your card stock a little wider. As you roll it through, it shrinks is a bit.
