Christmas is getting closer……I still have lots to do, do you?

Looks like gift cards may be on my list after all. No time to search for that ‘perfect’ gift.

And, after I made these, I thought, I’d love to give a gift card –

These were also for my Christmas Gift Card Class. A surprise project that was in the works and didn’t make the group photo, lol!

These are wonderful because they can hold a gift card or a little gift or they also make a great candy holder – the possibilities are endless!

I started with two Fry Box back pieces. I adhered all the ‘face’ cut outs and then Sticky Stripped the two together.

This retired Sweater Trim was PERFECT for this. Soft, easy to tie and flexible to go around the box curves.

Go make a few of these – they are great!

Summer Sunshine, Welcome

Summer sunshine, welcome? Why, yes. Today is the summer solstice, June 21st.

Here in Texas, however, it’s always sunny. And, it always feels like summer!

To showcase my homage to summer, I decided to go with Freshly Made Sketches, challenge #91. It was the perfect sketch for a simple card that simply, shines! No pun or sun intended! Lol!

Simple card to create. I embossed the background in the Cloudy Day Embossing Folder – so sad it didn’t carry over. Made my ‘sun’ from a circle, several Pennant Punches and, surprise, the new Mosaic Punch. Did you realize that? Stamped a sentiment. Made a border. And, done!

So, happy first day of summer! And, happy Friday! Here’s to getting through another scorcher of a summer.

Happy Valentines’s Day

I know, I know, it’s Tuesday. Where is the tip? My tip for you is this – all those cards you have recently (or not so recently) made? Pull one out and MAIL IT!

I created a really sweet card the other day. I actually photographed it BEFORE it went into the mail AND shared it with you. See, take a look-see –

Isn’t the outside just sweet?

Ok. Now see the inside? Even sweeter?

I love banners. I love cards. So, this was a perfect combination of the 2. I think the recipient loved it just as much. Wink, wink. Well, I hope so anyway. It is always fun to receive S N A I L  M A I L these days.

Supplies. No stamp set or ink pads were used in the making of this card. Very Vanilla Card Stock. Chocolate Chip Card Stock. Everyday Enchantment DSP (FREE with Sale-A-Bration!!). Petite Pennants Builder Punch. Small Heart Punch. Early Espresso/White Bakers Twine.

When opened, it will only open a slight amount to allow for the banner to hang. I think this is really, really stink in’ cute. Our twine is perfect for banner cards!

Merry Christmas Tree Times

My last stamp class was in late November. I featured quick and simple Christmas cards. Five of them. What a bargain if you attended!

This was one of them –

This is a great way to use the Petite Pennant Builder Punch in a different way than intended. And, with the addition of the embossing on the trees, you have a winner! At one class we used this Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder, at the other, we tried embossing the trees with the Snow Burst Embossing Folder. Much nicer with that one. However, no sample.   

Supplies. Petite Pairs Stamp Set, StazOn Ink, Card Cards, Garden Green, Wild Wasabi, Real Red & Whisper White. Frostwood Lodge DSP. Petite Pennant Builder Punch. Word Window Punch. Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder . 1/8 Early Espresso Taffeta Ribbon.

Happy Boss’s Day Linda

Yes, I know it was Monday. But, our boss was off on Monday, so we decided to celebrate it on Wednesday.

We created her a Recipe Book. See –

We all love to cook. We all love to eat. So we decided to combine the two and make this really special gift for Linda. These are the sections of the book. The stamp set, From the Kitchen Of made perfect dividers. Since we are in Pearland, I used the Pear die cut!

 

 

 

And, these were the recipe cards we all filled out –

We combined several different scrapbook supplies to create this adorable book. (I really wanted to keep it myself…..but….)

And, I had to add a BANNER. Nothing is ever complete without a banner. Look –

the Cat’s Meow

At my September stamp class, we created several quick treat holders for Halloween.

This was the one I came up with to hold a Ghiradelli Dark Chocolate –

And, when it’s opened, this is what the candy looks like inside – 

I thought is was a cool idea. What’s funny is that I used the Bird Builder Punch to create the tail and the Old Olive eyes! I don’t think I actually ever made a bird with that punch……For the ears, I used the Petite Pennants Builder Punch. A little piece of *hook & loop* tape keeps this cool cat closed.

Jack, of all Cards

Getting ready for Halloween yet? Well, I am. I just LOVE this time of year. My favorite is the variety of pumpkins that are about everywhere.

I took my favorite thing, pumpkins, and turned them into Jacks as one of my projects for my recent stamp class – 

Easy. Easy. Easy. I demonstrated these using a Crimper and the Elegant Lines Embossing Folder. Both will work. Both look cute! Use what you have. The face is made with the Petite Pennants Builder Punch.

A little tip, if you go the route of the crimper, cut your card stock a little wider. As you roll it through, it shrinks is a bit.
