Stair-Step Halloween

Happy Thursday! One more day until – H A L L O W E E N – yippee!

At my last Card Buffet, I was asked by on of the attendees to create a stepped up Halloween Birthday themed card. The challenge was on.

I tried several different cards . Several different techniques. This is a Card Buffet after all – I try to keep projects somewhat do-able.

Then, the lightbulb came on. This is what I came up with –

And, it was a hit! Yay!

It’s one of those stair-step cards! Quite cool I might add.

Thanks to the Fall Fest stamp set and the Fun Fall framelits – it couldn’t be easier. I had pre-cut and scored the card bases (I always do, spoiled customers). My favorite is the little ghost peeking out from the side. I put a Dimensional on the front of him so he stood back a little bit. Just a minor detail.

Since this card was favored SO much, I modified it a bit to create these –

I gave these to co-worker kids/grandkids and mailed some to my great nieces and nephews. As a treat, they contained a gift card on the inside. Perfect little treat I thought.

Happy Halloweeny

So, let’s try this post thing again. Without cat interruptions I might add!

Since Halloween is almost here, I need to share the Halloween cards that I’ve made or that have been available on the Card Buffet.

This one is a really cute one from September –

libbystamps, Lucky Stars Embossing Folder, Mingle All the Way, 2 1/2 Circle Punch, Chevron Embossing Folder, Fun Fall Framelits

It’s just a simple layering of shapes. I made the card first then went back and added the texture of the embossed panels. Since it’s Basic Black, you can not see it at all. But, the circle is the Lucky Stars embossing folder.

This just might be the card I send out to all my nieces and nephews. It’s simple and maybe not too scary!
