We Create – Making A Splash

We have made it to June 1st!!!

It’s felt like the last 3 months have been the longest!

So glad to be creating and hopping with these lovely ladies today!

Our theme this month is Making a Splash.

I decided to create a cute tropical shirt card –

This fun paper was made for this!!! It’s the Tropical Oasis Designer Series Paper only available a couple of more days.

Here is how I made this –

4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of pattern paper
cut in half, creating two 2″ x 5 1/4″ pieces
keeping them pushed together to keep pattern together, mark 2″ down on each
from center out, mark 7/8″, on each piece
score from the 7/8″ mark down to the 2″ mark on both pieces (pushed together, creates a ‘V’
fold back to create the ‘collar’
inside t-shirt, 3 15/16″ x 5 3/16″
using a larger circle or oval punch, punch a shallow neckline
add 3/4″ x 4″ DSP strip (same pattern as shirt) behind neckline
adhere ‘fun’ shirt to top of t-shirt
adhere to card front
add buttons or small punched circles for buttons to shirt front
easy, easy

I am not sure if I incorporated both, but here is my take on the challenge to inspire you –

Vibrant. Pretty.

East too! Just a base and a couple of layers of card stock, Tropical Oasis Designer Series Paper, then this wonderful bold sentiment from Seriously The Best.

Welcome to our Thursday Create with Connie and Mary sketch challenge!

Here is our newest challenge –

Nice, earthy colors! Great for a anyone, but makes for a real nice masculine card –

Wouldn’t you agree?

I am excited that I finally got the Timeless Tropical bundle in along with the Tropical Oasis Designer Series Paper in! I also got the Coastal Weave embossing Folder in as well. I used all for this card.

For the palm tree, I inked up my stamp in Old Olive, then markered the tree trunks in Soft Suede. After stampin the tree, I took the Pear Pizzaz Stampin’ Write marker and filled in the tree leaves. The added details makes all the difference!

Joy of Sets Tic Tac Toe – March Challenge

Welcome to our March month long challenge for the Joy of Sets!

I went with Birthday, Punch, Food –

I love this tropical style card! Great for anyone!

I started with a pineapple that I had die cut from the In The Tropics Dies. it was on my desk just asking to be used!

It looked nice framed on an oval from the Stitched Shapes Dies. The framing broke it up from the busy Tropical Oasis Designer Series Paper.

Since I needed a ‘punched shape’, I went with a sentiment from the nifty, Label Me Bold stamp set, stamped three times. The Classic Label Punch is perfect for this sentiment. I added it three times and trimmed the ends even with the card. Something a little different!
