Hello my stampin’ friends!

Welcome to our Thursday Create with Connie and Mary challenge!

For the next month of challenges, we are CASEing the new catalog. These are always fun challenges as we get to use what we want from the inspiration card. Here is this weeks challenge –

I decided to make my first Christmas in July card –

Pretty. Pretty.

I started with this nice plaid from the Delightfully Eclectic Designer Series Paper. Since it was blue, I created a blue and white snowflake with the Delightful Doily Hybrid Embossing Folder. Although, I used it to cut the shape I needed.

I added the stamped sentiment on the larger panel like the sample.

To further the Christmas theme, I added a shimmer circle of Night of Navy with some white dies cut trees from the Zany Zoo Dies! Perfect little Christmas trees!

These In Color Dots help take up the extra space around the sentiment and add the festive holiday touch to this card!

Blueberry Bushel is a wonderful blue for this –

I used the Wonderful Thoughts bundle creating the flowers, the Basic White strips, and to stamp the sentiment. I love how the edges are rounded on the sentiment strips.

These pieces are placed upon a piece of the Glorious Gingham Designer Series Paper. This paper is so nice, bright, and crisp!

This will brighten anyone’s day who receives it!

For the next month of challenges, we are CASEing the new catalog. These are always fun challenges as we get to use what we want from the inspiration card. Here is this week’s inspiration –

I went with the layout on this card –

sweet. Sweet. SWEET!

I used the Share a Milkshake stamp set and dies. These ‘milkshakes’ turned out to be ‘sundaes’, lol! I have vanilla with chocolate sauce, strawberry with strawberry sauce, and chocolate with marshmallow sauce!

Each is topped with an Adhesive Backed Sequin!

Fun twine ties the card together, lol!

Red with Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop

Thank you for joining us for our weekly Create with Connie and Mary Saturday blog hop!

Our theme this week is cards that are red, yes, another favorite of mine!

Red you say. . . . . .how about soft shades of red?

That go BAM as a flower?

I amazed myself with this flower. Why? Because it is created from something else! I used the Textured Floral stamp set.

The leaf on the left (in the middle) was used to create all these petals. I inked the image in Poppy Parade and stamped twice next to each other going all around in a circle pattern. Stamping twice gives a dark and light effect. I went back and did the same again with Flirty Flamingo filling in gaps. By adding this other color, it added depth to the flower.

I then proceeded to fussy cut this beautiful bloom I had just created.

It needed something as a background. The Sketched Plaid background was perfect. Since the flower petals were not perfectly edged, the Deckled Rectangles Dies softened those edges of the layer.

The sentiment is also from the stamp set, keeping everything all together.

Our theme this week features cards that are only black and white, my favorite!

I have a sweet Fun Fold card to kick off my birthday month with –

I used the Zoo Crew Designer Series Paper, Darling Details bundle, Stylish Shapes Dies, and the 2 3/8″ Circle Punch. Just a few basic supplies.

As I mentioned before this is a Fun Fold card . . . . .

. . . . . . . but, we are not through opening it.

Yes! Isn’t this just the sweetest birthday card????

Hello there Happy Birthday Friend

This gem will fit into a regular envelope too as it is a 4″ x 5 1/2″ sized card.

Tips : The die cut flowers were adhered only on the flower stems and flower centers so they’d pop out a bit. The flower centers on the Designer Series Paper were colored in using a black Sharpie (because it was on the table next to this project).

Stretch it Out – Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop

Our theme this week features slim line or mini slim cards! You know what I went with!

Yes, a sweet little 3 1/2″ x 6″ mini slim card! Pun intended as these are sweet little ice creams pops on this Fun Fold!

And, it holds a gift card too!

I used dies several to create this. Starting off with my popsicles using the Nested Essentials Dies and some tiny popsicle sticks I found online.

I set those on strips cut from a long die found in the Beautiful Balloons Dies. This subtle detail added some texture.

Lastly, I cut tiny, flagged strips from the Countryside Corners Dies. I stamped them with an also tiny Happy Birthday from the Sentimental Park stamp set.

This is just as cute as can be! What do you think? I love the slim card idea this week!

Besides the incredible heat and humidity here in south Texas, we also grow refreshing watermelons throughout the state! It inspired me!

I created this adorable watermelon using the Countryside Corners Dies and the Dots & Spots Die. Isn’t this just so refreshing!?!? I love how bright and fun it is!

The addition of the (on sale) Glorious Gingham Designer Series Paper and the Lemon Lolly card base – you have summer on a card!

Fun Fact : Watermelons are Texas’ largest annual horticultural crop. Over 42,000 acres are grown throughout Texas in over 100 counties.

I made a template of this layout to help with the diagonal cut. I like doing this when I plan to use a lot of Designer Series Paper. That way, there is minimal waste.

Here is how I used the sketch to show off this Inked Botanicals Designer Series Paper –

Simply sweet I’d say! I love the colors as they are soft and comforting.

I think the sentiment should have been darker, but that is ok. I still would send this out.

This Inked Botanicals is one of the many Designer Series Papers that are currently on sale until the end of the month. Cards like this are a great way to showcase all the pretty papers you have!

Our theme this week is birthday cards – of all sorts!

Love a great layout that shows all sorts of pattern papers. I also love it when a die can cut all the shapes for me!

Isn’t this neat?!?! I used the Gone Fishing Dies to create the rounded, rectangle border and the inserts for the cuts of Bright & Beautiful Designer Series Paper.

It was quite simple to do as I used scraps in the dies to create the cuts. I could have easily cut 4 sheets of Designer Series Paper creating 4 cards, but I decided to create one here.

I could have also just put scraps a bit bigger than the openings behind the openings to make it even quicker.

I popped up my sentiment too so it would stand out.

Pretty nifty, huh?

Happy Try Stampin’ on Tuesday!

Here is our newest two week challenge to inspire you –

Yep, playing with the Let’s Go Fishing Designer Series Paper, again! It is terrific and it is on sale currently!

I created a simple CONGRATS card, perfect for just about any occasion. Putting the sentiment in the fish was clever and different. Nice that it can even be die cut!

Notice the Naturals 1/4″ Wavy Trim on under the card on the front? I am lovin’ this stuff!

When the card opens, you can see the other side of the Designer Series Paper. Such a great way to show two sides of a great pattern paper when you can not decide!

I used the new Pecan Pie as my card base, base for the smaller card and stamping. It is a great neutral, warm brown.

Great Outdoors – Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop

Our theme this week features cards exploring the great outdoors!

How about fishing? That is about as outdoors as you can get!

And, you get two cards today! I love this type of layout which shows both sides of the pattern paper.

My cards today feature the Let’s Go Fishing Designer Series Paper. This fold enables you to see both sides of the paper, which is pretty cool!

Both cards are a horizontal layout, but the fold is in two different places. Here, It is on the left side. The caes base measures 6 3/4″ x 4 1/4″, scored at 4 1/4″.

Here the base is 5 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4, with the fold at the top.

On both cards, the Designer Series Paper is 5 1/4″ x 4″.

The sentiment is stamped on one of the die cut tackle box inserts.

I decided to play with this wonderful Patchwork Pieces Dies again for a retro take on the sketch –

These colors are just so 70’s to me! Lol! This die creates a nice sunshine effect in these yellows.

I added the sentiment from the Circle Sayings Bundle using a monochromatic color choice to resemble a sun. This is just soo so fun!

Our theme this week features our favorite new dies from the new catalog.

I have a few, but narrowed it to these –

Since it is Memorial Day on Monday, why not create a patriotic card!?!? I started my card with the Patchwork Pieces Dies in three colors. Now that we have stars in the Beautiful Blooms dies, I cut some of those out.

The sentiment is also from the coordinating stamp set to the dies. I used the Banners Pick A Punch for a nice end detailing.

I felt the card was lacking, so I embossed the card base using one of the Basics 3D Embossing Folder. This one looks to have stars in it – perfect!

I left off bling to keep this card simple for either gender. Although, it would look very nice!

Put Some Bling on It with Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop

Our theme this week features adding some new *bling* to our projects!

Let’s get right to this show stopper –

Right!!!

I used the new Inked & Botanical bundle. This one has a stamp set and two punches! I punched ten of one of the shapes and placed them around the edge to create a dramatic border.

I stamped the focal point a couple of time to get it nice and dark. I used one of the Radiating Stitched Dies for some subtle texture.

The sentiment is from the same stamp set. It is convenient how it can be stamped and then punched from the same punch creating nice ends. Some of the ‘parts’ just need trimming.

My favorite ‘bling’ added to this card is the Adhesive Backed Sequin Trio. These colors are fabulous, Pretty Peacock, Berry Burst, and white. And, you just get soo many in this package

I used three on my card near the flowers for a bit of unexpected *pop*.

I am continuing my masculine theme with this card –

I love the 70’s vibe here! It’s these colors! Pecan Pie and Crushed Curry work quite well together.

Of course this is a favorite stamp of mine, Brewed For You. Classic guy stamp set in my opinion,

I added the twist of color and the sentiment in the Nested Essentials Dies. It really adds to the vibe!

Additionally, this is a square card, 4 1/4″ x 4 1/4″ card, which will still fit into a standard envelope.

Happy Try Stampin’ on Tuesday!

Here is our newest two week challenge to inspire you –

While, I did not used flowers, I used these instead –

Some men would probably consider these as good as flowers, lol!

This is the new Gone Fishing bundle, stamp set and dies. It is awesome!

(It has soo many great dies, especially the tackle box!)

I stamped and die cut the bobbers, adding some coordinating Designer Series Paper behind them. It is just awesome!

This stamp set also has several great sentiments, however, I went with retirement. We just don’t see enough retirement cards these days.

If something looks familiar on the card, it is probably the return of Misty Moonlight. I used both the card stock and ink here.
