Happy Saturday!

On Saturdays, I participate in a blog hop with the talented ladies at Create with Connie and Mary!

Our theme this week is Tri-Fold cards!

This was a perfect time to try out this nifty folding card –

Looks cute enough, right? It’s a 4×4 card from the front…….but, when you start to open it…….

Keep opening it…….

Tada!!! Isn’t this just ‘lovely‘,’as can be‘, ‘inside & out‘?????

I’m so glad I tried this type of tri-fold card. It was so easy! I wasn’t able to find a ‘how to’ on the interweb – so I just winged it!

I started with an 8×8 square. Scored at 4 both ways. I removed one of the squares, plus a tiny tiny bit more on the side to accommodate for the fold down – as the card closes, it needed to be less bulky.

Once I figured out the base, I decorated it. I used a new upcoming Stampin’ Up bundle, Lovely Inside & Out paired with some retiring designer series paper from the Occasions Mini. The washi tape is from the April 2017 Paper Pumpkin kit. These colors are just wonderful together!

Blogging Friends Blog Hop – May – Retiring Favorites

May first and before we know it, the new catalog will be here. This is the first of two blog hops for the day!

In honor of the current catalog ending, we will say farewell to some of out favorite Retiring Products. This post is all about retiring products. A few that I really liked out of several that are retiring!

I created five 4×4 cards to share. No particular order.

From the Occasions Mini, the Nailed It bundle sold out as soon as it went on the retiring list. I just love it – so versatile and a masculine set for once! I paired it with the Sending Love Designer Series Paper.

This Stylish Stems Framelits was my favorite flower framelit, also from the Occasions Mini. The coordinating Special Reason stamp set was ok, not my favorite as the words are too small. Of course, I purchased both of them. This paired well with the (soon to retire) Pop of Pink Specialty Designers Series Paper.

Of course, the In-Colors are always sad to see leave. At least they are around for a couple of years! My favorite color was the Cucumber Crush! I used the T-shirt Builder framelits, Custom Tee Bundle, to create this. These are also from the mini. I liked the ‘Happy Stamper’ stamp. That is SO usable for us!

From the large, main catalog. The Llama. Who does not love a llama? Who? This was an awesomely cute bundle! The designer series paper was pretty cool too.

The last stamp set I’ll share is the Fresh Fruit. I loved this. It was simply sweet.

Lastly. The 12×12 Kraft card stock will no longer be available. I created (from scratch) a nifty box to hold all these cards. And, yes, the Banners Framelits, the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set and the Layered Letters Alphabet will not be in the upcoming catalog either. Gorgeous Grunge? I got so much use from this set!

Whew. That’s a lot of retiring stuff! And, I didn’t even touch the tip of all the things I really loved from the 2016-2017 catalog. Not too sad though. Can’t be. Lots of new, wonderful items coming our way. If you feel compelled to need any of these or other items, please order here.

Blogging Friends Blog Hop – February

Welcome to our February Blogging Friends Blog Hop, the month of love!

We have a guest blogger again this month, Tami White. Welcome, Tami!

Our theme this month is, of course, LOVE.

This was quite convenient for me. My hubs was going to visit his mother (in Holland, we’re in Texas) for her birthday. I always like to make him love notes to stash in his suitcase!

I went with the Sunshine Wishes Thinlits from the big idea book and catalog. I paired it with a 6×6 DSP stack from the mini, Sending Love.

I wanted to show you the versatility of our dies and to use every part of it.

In this first card, I used the outer part of the heart die cut –

I paired it with the inner part of the love die. I did plan that I would be using the outer portion and started with a square to create a 3×3 card.

Most people only use this portion of this die, the sweet, scribbly heart –

Of course, it’s a great choice because it’s just too cute. You can see that I used it with the outer portion of the love die this time. I also don’t want to waste any of the Glimmer paper either!

Lastly, I used the center of the heart –

It’s kinda funky and I really like the style of it! (I had a Card Buffet a couple of weeks ago and we used the inner part of the U’s then – I saved the outer parts!) This card just says, love U! How sweet is that?

All together, some mighty fine cards to be stashed away between clothes to let the hubs know how much I love and miss him!

Tuesday finds me in a way more creative mood than Monday. I was SO itching to create something – anything. It just wasn’t happening. You ever have days like that?

Whew. I hope that feeling has passed……

We have a great – I mean super – layout from Try Stampin’ on Tuesday today –

Challenge #307. Theme: Hugs and Kisses

I just thought this was a great layout to create with!

I came up with this in no time –

I love it! Fits the theme perfectly!

This was one of those cards where I just kept adding elements until it was just right!

Five Card Friday

Last weekend I had a wonderful Card Buffet. I usually post my selection board on Facebook and Instagram for all the attendees to see. Then, if I get time, I post the individual cards in subsequent posts. Well. I didn’t take the time to do that.

Instead, I decided to post the five I hadn’t blogged about today. Get ready to pin some great cards!!!

This was card 1 –

It was actually a card I created here. This time, for class, I added the additional colors to show two-step stamping. It seemed no one had trouble lining it up either! My biggest concern…..

I had just received a stamp order right before the class. This Stylish Stems Bundle was in the order and I had to play with the Stylish Stems Framelits –

This became another card on the board because I just loved the simplicity of how to create it!

This stamp set, Beautiful You is quite popular right now. So, I just had to show it off as well.

You can’t tell in the picture, but her dress and hat are colored with Wink of Stella! Nice touch in person along with the Silver Glimmer strip!

I like to create at least two cards on the board choices that use the same stamps or DSP to show the versatility of the products. Here, I used the Tie Dyed set again, combined with the Sale-a-Bration set, So Very Much.

What a great combination! Both are bold and big. It was also very quick and easy!!!

The last card I’ll share today was also another card I had previously shown. You can see it here. However, fussy cutting is not everyone’s favorite thing to do! Imagine that????? So. I change this design up a bit!

This was a fun card to create as it involves NO stamping! Oh, and, I also changed up the embossing folder I had used s well.

No Reason for a Card

Whew. I managed to get through my Card Buffet this past weekend – it was SO much fun. I posted pictures here.

Now, to get back to my routine card making! It’s Wednesday, time for a challenge from Watercooler Wednesday!

Today, our challenge is this –

I usually love a Masculine challenge. Today, my creativity is a bit on the not-so-creative side. But, that’s ok. We all have days like this.

I whipped up this –

Simple. Sweet. And, as it says, ‘There’s no special reason for this card…’ Because there is not.

I just leave the hubs cards, just because.

What’s even better? This card uses leftover parts from my class over the weekend! Yay! Nothing wasted.
