Beautiful Birthday Promenade

Welcome to the Create with Connie and Mary Thursday challenge!

Our newest challenge is simply wonderful! I know, which ones are not??

I was inspired to play with the Beautiful Promenade stamp set and this gorgeous new peachy pink color, Petal Pink creating a lovely birthday card –

The flowers were stamped and cut using the coordinating Beautiful Layers Thinlits. The Mossy meadow leavers were also from the same thinlits set.

Using one of the Petal Pair embossing folders was just the right touch behind the flowers!

This was the inspiration sketch for this week –

I think my card uses it quite well! This card was a total hit at my September Card Buffet!

Bold & Bright Colors – Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop

Happy holiday weekend! Thanks for taking time out for the Create with Connie and Mary blog hop!

Our theme this week features Bold & Bright Colors.

This is so fun since Stampin’ Up is introducing new colors officially June 1st!

I decided to mix old with new for this summerish beauty –

The newest color on here is Pineapple Punch, the bright yellow! Followed by Lemon Lime Twist, Melon Mambo and Bermuda Bay for some added interest.

These colors are definitely bright, bold and eye-catching!

The embossed panels added some dimension and interest to the card.

I’ll be featuring this card on my card Buffet on Sunday!

Yes. You.

I designed a card for You and Create with Connie and Mary and our newest Thursday challenge –

Of course, a wonderful layout!

And, another card using the butterfly from the Beautiful Day stamp set!

Isn’t this just lovely???

If you’ve been following my recent posts, you’ll know I’ve created two other cards using these colors! One is here and the other is here.

On my card for today, I embossed the butterfly using (retired) black embossing powder and colored the butterfly in a cool way.

Stampin’ Up pads are unique in that if you squish them while closed, ink will be left on the top of the case. By taking an Aqua Painter and dipping it in the ink, you’ll pick it up and you can color with it! I colored the butterfly in the same colors I had used previously, Tempting Turquoise, Lemon Lime Twist, Berry Burst & Fresh Fig.

It created a similar, stunning look – but with a watercolor effect. I layered that beauty on the free Sale-a-Bration Tutti-Frutti Card & Envelopes. I also added an embossed layer too. The YOU thinlits are also Sale-a-Bration item too! So much good stuff this year!!

Stained Glass Style Thank You

Hello my stampin’ friends!

I have been playing around with the Beautiful Day stamp set again. This time, I designed a card for try Stampin’ on Tuesday and our newest challenge –

These are the best sketches! Clean. Simple.

I designed this card –

It is quite similar to the one I created on Saturday.

I used the same colors, because these are great colors, and the same butterfly only in vellum here. I stamped the butterfly and let it dry. I turned it over and used the Stampin’ Write markers to color the sections on the wings. Flipped over, it gives it a stained glass effect. So pretty!

And, you guessed it, I did fussy cut the butterfly out. Again. Tip if you cut it out, cut out the antennae first. Its way easier.

New Stuff – Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop

Winding down the 2017 year! And, taking some much-needed ‘me’ time to create for Create with Connie and Mary and our Saturday blog hop.

Our theme this week is, NEW STUFF! As a (hobby or business) demonstrator, one of the perks is being able to order products a little earlier than non-demonstrators. It is an awesome perk! And, really awesome when you have time to actually use them! This time of year gets a bit challenging!

I used several things to create this ensemble –

This is a card box, labeled Celebrate Amazing You, in the upper left corner and three coordinating cards to fit in the box.

The box is a new box from the Lots to Love Framelits. The note cards are new as well and smaller at just 2 1/2 x 4 1/2. The are made specifically to go inside the box! How cool is that?

The stamped images are from a Sale-a-Bration set Amazing You and this time we have coordinating framelits you can earn too, Celebrate You Thinlits! I am really excited about this years assortment of free products you can earn!

The last thing that I added to the set were the Berry Burst adhesive backed sequins from the new 2018 Spring Mini!
