Magnolia Lane Challenge

Happy Friday!

I hope all is well in your corner of the world.

When I gave out the new Stampin’ Up! catalog a few weeks ago, I included some random goodies in the bags. Some received this –

It was a card challenge to spark creativity!

It contained a Whisper White card base, some Magnolia Lane Designer Series Paper and some punched shapes.

I decided to play along as well, because you know, I love a challenge! This is what I created –

I used all the pieces as I gave out. The flower I fussy cut and the Mossy Meadow strip I cut in half to extend the length of it.

I have already got some of the challenge cards in! Excited to see how everyone plays along.

I also thought this was a great way to use up excess, retired* Designer Series Paper too!

Happy Labor Day!

I decided to spend part of my day crafting! That’s unusual!

I was inspired by this sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches this week –

I say inspired because I made a simple one layer card –

What I was actually playing around with was extending the banner die length in this set!

And, it worked!!! I folded a strip of Whisper White in half placing it past the halfway point on the die.

Ran it through the die cut machine and when opened, it was longer! I smoothed out the crease and stamped the sentiment. (Bottom is the original size.)

The sentiment is a photopolymer stamp called Magnolia Blooms. It is not in the catalog, but inline. Very nice, simple stamp set.

The longer banner fit nicely over the four candles! I’ll be trying this idea again. I hope you enjoy this tip as well!

Happy Sunday!

I recently got this beautiful Magnolia 3D Embossing Folder and decided I needed to try it out!

This challenge over at Fab Friday is the perfect layout for a teaser of this folder!

Here is the teaser –

It is a gorgeous image, right? This color combination is a real *pop* too!

I cut my strip of Purple Posey and put it on the diagonal in the folder to get the most from this flower image.

The white decorative strip is from the Magnolia Memory Dies. I cut two of these, cutting one in half to make the 5 1/2 span along the embossed panel.

Simply done. Simply beautiful!

Welcome to our Thursday Create with Connie and Mary sketch challenge!

Here is our newest color challenge –

Fresh. Bright. Cheerful.

I went a summer-ish, sweet, thank you card –

I started with die cutting these beautiful flowers from the Magnolia Memory die set. I loved using both the inside pieces and the outer parts of the flowers creating this card. I haven’t seen these used much.

I used the Basket Weave strip down the center of the card, cutting a pretty decorative edge along the bottom. The flowers fit just above it nicely.

I added the sentiment from Magnolia Blooms, punched using the Timeless Label punch. I punched it twice to shorten it.

What do you think? Isn’t it pretty?
