Happy Labor Day!

I decided to spend part of my day crafting! That’s unusual! 

I was inspired by this sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches this week –

I say inspired because I made a simple one layer card –

libbystamps, Stampin' Up!, Doily Wishes Dies, Magnolia Blooms, FMS400

What I was actually playing around with was extending the banner die length in this set!

And, it worked!!! I folded a strip of Whisper White in half placing it past the halfway point on the die.

Ran it through the die cut machine and when opened, it was longer! I smoothed out the crease and stamped the sentiment. (Bottom is the original size.)

The sentiment is a photopolymer stamp called Magnolia Blooms. It is not in the catalog, but inline. Very nice, simple stamp set.

The longer banner fit nicely over the four candles! I’ll be trying this idea again. I hope you enjoy this tip as well!

Oh, todays post sort of takes me back! I used to have Freshly Made Fridays!

In my early days of card making and card challenges, Freshly Made Sketches was always a go-to for me. This week, their challenge is this, a retro challenge from back in the day –

I looked to see if I made something with this particular sketch, but I had not. That would have been cool to share.

Love these little dino-guys!

As you can see, there are no stamped images on the card! Even the dino is from the Designer Series Paper! It’s the exact size for the dies! Easy, peasy!

Sentiment is also a die, the Hand Lettered Prose.

The background is the new Eyelet Lace that is just too cute. It is perfect on this card!
