I was able to fit in another card challenge this week! Yay me!

I was inspired by two things here. Freshly Made Sketches and the fact my hubby is out-of-town. You know, who doesn’t need a little ‘love’ when they’re gone? Right?

This is the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches I followed –

It is really fun! It caught my eye the day it came out. I wasn’t sure what direction I wanted to go in though. This is my take on it –

Really fun, too? It’s totally manly with the Silver Foil Diamond Plate embossed panel. Not sure where I got that – I’ve had it a very long time.

I went a bit quirky with the rest of the design. But, I’m pleased with it. Love these Word Bubble Framelits and how you can manipulate them to change the size. I really had no idea where I was going with the card. I just added elements and stamping until I liked the result. I pulled from retired, current and non Stampin’ Up.

I think this will brighten my hubby’s trip, don’t you?

It’s A……Gender Reveal

Happy relaxing Sunday!

I’m pausing on my Card Buffet festivities to play around with a card challenge. I just wanted to be creative this morning!

Sadly, it’s the last sketch over at Seize the Sketch. I have LOVED their ideas. And, I love their simple, eye-catching picture they’ve always posted. Very visually appealing. I’ll miss them…..

This is what I created –

A baby card of sorts.

I recently went to a baby shower, and made this bag. The parents to be have decided to not follow the norm of finding out at the minute of conception, the gender of their baby to be. They are waiting. So, it prompted me to make this adorable baby card for them.

I pulled out a way old retired 6×6 paper pack because I liked the pink, blue and yellow papers in the pack. Just generic baby colors, really.

I decided I needed a couple of question marks. I didn’t have one by itself, so I created one. It’s from the Just Sayin’ stamp set.

I also needed a tag line. This came from A Dozen Thoughts. The Banner Punch worked well in punching out just that little bit of words I needed.

In just a few more weeks they will find out what’s been in the works will be. A girl or a boy. Either way, I’m happy for them!

Hey There

Hey there!

Just sharing’ a really simple and fun card that was featured on my last two Card Buffets. I try to mix easy, difficult, technique spotlight, new products all in my buffets. This was new product, easy, technique.

Why technique? The front panel it not full. I placed the card stock and DSP on the inside of the card for a little added dimension. My sentiment hangs over to bridge the two. See here –

And then of course, the card closed. Many didn’t realize this until I told them. Made them change their minds, because it is a little different.

This idea was a case from my uppity, up, up-line, Sandy. Can’t tell if she used Whisper White for her base or Very Vanilla, as I did. Either way, a very striking card and a favorite of mine!

I thought this was an excellent way to show the new Just Sayin’ Stamp Set and the Word Bubbles Framelits, which you can purchase in a bundle. Black and cream or white are always classic colors too. e new Arrows Embossing Folder coordinated quite well with the Modern Medley DSP, another favorite of mine.

You’re How Old?

You’re how old? Of course I’d never ask, and she’d most likely never tell……

This is a silly, cute little 3×3 card made for a dear friend I used to work with, Erica. She would usually be off work for her birthday and it wouldn’t be until way after that I’d get her card to her. Well, a virtual card is better than no card – so here it is.

I whipped this little cutie up from some new products that are available today! A new Mini catalog is here and items are available to purchase today!

I used the Just Sayin’ stamp set and the coordinating framelits, Word Bubbles. Both are way too cute! We can always use another framelit set, right? Hand cutting images is so yesterday, lol!

I thought the sentiment went quite well with the number pattern DSP from Birthday Basics. And, yes, my circle is askew. I didn’t want it to be straight.

I added a little girly touch with some flowers from Everything Eleanor. They were already cut and just sitting in my work area sayin’, “use me or clean me up”! So, well, a nice addition.

I also couldn’t refuse making an envelope liner either. Tied everything together. You can’t go wrong with a 3×3 card.

So, my dear friend Erica, have a wonderful birthday! I’m thinking about you these days!
