with Sympathy

Welcome to our Thursday Create with Connie and Mary challenge!

Here is our newest color challenge –

When I saw these colors, I thought they were very serene, which sparked a sympathy card –

I was amazed at the fact I placed the sentiment on the Stamparatus exactly next to the ‘flourish’! So, I have left it on the plates and it will be featured at my Card Buffet this weekend!

I initially used the Stamparatus to stamp the flourish evenly. It worked like a charm. So, I added the sentiment.

I placed the focal point all the way to the right for something different. By doing so, it left a lot of Crumb Cake border. Sooo, I pulled out the leaf stamp and stamped around the the Very Vanilla in Crumb Cake.

With the addition of the little Daffodil Delight tag – it was perfectly done!

Happy Thursday! Time for a new challenge from Create with Connie and Mary.

This week, we have a color challenge –

Some nice serene colors! Perfect this –

A sympathy card.

No one ever likes to make these to just to have around……unfortunately, I needed one.

I had also wanted to try this style of card that I’ve seen several times. I simply can not recall the name of it. Anyway, the butterfly passes through the card front. But, it’s actually adhered to the inside of the card! See what I mean –

On the front of the card, there is a slot made from the Classic Label that the butterfly passes through. Pretty nifty I must say! And, easy too!

Hello my stampin’ friends! Time to create a card for Create with Connie and Mary!

Sadly, I missed last weeks challenge. But, I’m back this week! Things still need to be put back in order…..but, everyone is safe and there is stampin’ to be done!

Here is our new, inspiring sketch for the week –

This was tricky for me with the half circle. I love the result –

It’s like a little knitted cap with a pretty flower trim! Can be holiday-ish, or maybe not!

The sentiment is perfect as caps are warm! Just a little pun here perhaps!

I used the new Quilt Builder Framelits from the Holiday Mini again! So many shapes for such variety!

You should see how the other Design Team members at Create with Connie and Mary used this sketch! Amazing cards!

Just a Note

Today in the blogging world, I have a busy day! This is the first of three posts for me! Three post Thursday!

I’ll start off with a card for Create with Connie and Mary.

We have a new set of challenges for the month of June since the new Stampin Up catalog just came out!!! All the pictures are from the new catalog and will be what we create from. Here is this weeks inspirational picture –

I had to pull out my book to examine this picture a little more closely.

It appeared to be a gift card holder. So that is what I created –

I went with a simple single, new favorite color, Tranquil Tide. It paired nicely with the Flourish Thinlits and Flourishing Phrases stamp set.

I initially placed the set of scrolling vines down and adhered that whole panel to the card front. After I tied the gold ribbon on the side, I added another set of scrolling vines on top of the other ones and the ribbon. The card is still removable without undoing the ribbon. Clever, really.

It’s very pretty and serene. It’d be great to receive a note like this with a gift card in it!

The other Design Team members created some great cards too. Some used the sketch. Some used the colors. Check them out too!
