Stretch it Out – Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop

Our theme this week features slim line or mini slim cards! You know what I went with!

Yes, a sweet little 3 1/2″ x 6″ mini slim card! Pun intended as these are sweet little ice creams pops on this Fun Fold!

And, it holds a gift card too!

I used dies several to create this. Starting off with my popsicles using the Nested Essentials Dies and some tiny popsicle sticks I found online.

I set those on strips cut from a long die found in the Beautiful Balloons Dies. This subtle detail added some texture.

Lastly, I cut tiny, flagged strips from the Countryside Corners Dies. I stamped them with an also tiny Happy Birthday from the Sentimental Park stamp set.

This is just as cute as can be! What do you think? I love the slim card idea this week!

Besides the incredible heat and humidity here in south Texas, we also grow refreshing watermelons throughout the state! It inspired me!

I created this adorable watermelon using the Countryside Corners Dies and the Dots & Spots Die. Isn’t this just so refreshing!?!? I love how bright and fun it is!

The addition of the (on sale) Glorious Gingham Designer Series Paper and the Lemon Lolly card base – you have summer on a card!

Fun Fact : Watermelons are Texas’ largest annual horticultural crop. Over 42,000 acres are grown throughout Texas in over 100 counties.

Our theme this week is birthday cards – of all sorts!

Love a great layout that shows all sorts of pattern papers. I also love it when a die can cut all the shapes for me!

Isn’t this neat?!?! I used the Gone Fishing Dies to create the rounded, rectangle border and the inserts for the cuts of Bright & Beautiful Designer Series Paper.

It was quite simple to do as I used scraps in the dies to create the cuts. I could have easily cut 4 sheets of Designer Series Paper creating 4 cards, but I decided to create one here.

I could have also just put scraps a bit bigger than the openings behind the openings to make it even quicker.

I popped up my sentiment too so it would stand out.

Pretty nifty, huh?

Great Outdoors – Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop

Our theme this week features cards exploring the great outdoors!

How about fishing? That is about as outdoors as you can get!

And, you get two cards today! I love this type of layout which shows both sides of the pattern paper.

My cards today feature the Let’s Go Fishing Designer Series Paper. This fold enables you to see both sides of the paper, which is pretty cool!

Both cards are a horizontal layout, but the fold is in two different places. Here, It is on the left side. The caes base measures 6 3/4″ x 4 1/4″, scored at 4 1/4″.

Here the base is 5 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4, with the fold at the top.

On both cards, the Designer Series Paper is 5 1/4″ x 4″.

The sentiment is stamped on one of the die cut tackle box inserts.

Cut a Rug with Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop

Our theme this week features our favorite new dies from the new catalog.

I have a few, but narrowed it to these –

Since it is Memorial Day on Monday, why not create a patriotic card!?!? I started my card with the Patchwork Pieces Dies in three colors. Now that we have stars in the Beautiful Blooms dies, I cut some of those out.

The sentiment is also from the coordinating stamp set to the dies. I used the Banners Pick A Punch for a nice end detailing.

I felt the card was lacking, so I embossed the card base using one of the Basics 3D Embossing Folder. This one looks to have stars in it – perfect!

I left off bling to keep this card simple for either gender. Although, it would look very nice!

Put Some Bling on It with Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop

Our theme this week features adding some new *bling* to our projects!

Let’s get right to this show stopper –

Right!!!

I used the new Inked & Botanical bundle. This one has a stamp set and two punches! I punched ten of one of the shapes and placed them around the edge to create a dramatic border.

I stamped the focal point a couple of time to get it nice and dark. I used one of the Radiating Stitched Dies for some subtle texture.

The sentiment is from the same stamp set. It is convenient how it can be stamped and then punched from the same punch creating nice ends. Some of the ‘parts’ just need trimming.

My favorite ‘bling’ added to this card is the Adhesive Backed Sequin Trio. These colors are fabulous, Pretty Peacock, Berry Burst, and white. And, you just get soo many in this package

I used three on my card near the flowers for a bit of unexpected *pop*.

With every new catalog comes lots of great new Designer Papers! I haven’t had a chance to play with them much, but this one sure did catch my eye –

This is the Masterfully Made Designer Series Paper. It is all bright, creative patterns resembling torn paper! I pulled out my Melon Mambo card stock to accent it. When is the last time you used this color?

As you can see, I let the paper do all the work for this mini-slim card. My card is 3 1/2″ x 6″.

I added a nice gold bow and used these gorgeous Brushed Brass Butterflies as this card really needs no additional anything!

Now, go create a bold card for yourself!

Welcome In Colors – Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop

Thank you for joining us for our weekly Create with Connie and Mary Saturday blog hop!

Our theme this week features welcoming the 2023-2025 In Colors!

I created a simple card letting all of this new Fresh As a Daisy Designer Series Paper do most of the work for me!

Such pretty colors showing off the daisies-like flowers with the Boho Blue Centers on the Copper Clay washed background.

The edging comes from the Deckled Edge Dies. I created texture by using the Painted Texture Embossing Folder. It enhances the painted look of this background.

The focal point was placed on a piece of Pebbled Path, a new In Color. This is going to be a great neutral color for me!

Last, the sentiment is stamped in Pebbled Path on Very Vanilla, same as the card base. I chose Very Vanilla as a contrast to the white on the flowers. These new In Colors look softer, blending better with the Very Vanilla for me.

I am excited to see everyone’s new takes on the In Colors! How about you? Next is Debbie Henderson, and you probably came from Cindy Elam. I know they’ll have some great ideas for us!

Hello New Colors – Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop

Our theme this week is all the new colors that have joined us!

Of the eleven new and returning colors, I chose a returning color, Blueberry Bushel to feature.

Since Graduation is around the corner, this nice bright, school-like, blue was the perfect color to feature for a Graduation Fun Fold card –

And, of course, I used new stuff! This is the Beautiful Balloons Bundle, stamp set and dies. It is a celebration themed set and very versatile.

As the card opens, the hat flips back, the gown is exposed.

This variegated star pattern is also new. It is the Bright & Beautiful 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper. This is going to be a favorite pack of paper for me for sure!

I featured the Designer Series Paper again on the inside of the card.

Our theme this week is our favorite stamp we will miss that is retiring.

Oh, oh, oh…….so may favorites retiring! I love the Shaded Summer stamp set!

This is an underrated stamp set. It has all these wonderful sentiments, seven to be exact! I chose, Love You, Friend, because we just don’t say it often enough to our friends.

I stamped everything in Pacific Point as it is a nice bold blue! Sadly, it is retiring. It reminds me of Delft Blue. And paired with Daffodil Delight – a winner of a combination!

The focal point looks wonderful on this Stitched Greenery Die too. It creates a subtle background. I will definitely miss this die. I used it a lot!

This adorable stamp set can be found online! It is just as cute as can be!

I combined him with the Awash in Beauty Designer Series Paper. These particular patterns work well looking safari-like!

If you look closely, I snipped the sides of his legs to go over the sentiment. Just a little detail that adds to the simple WOW of this card!

When I think of Spring in Texas, I think of Bluebonnets. Every year, I try to create a card with a cleaver way to stamp a Bluebonnet. This years card –

I chose to use one of the flower stamps in the Sending Smiles stamp set repeatedly in Pacific Point. I stamped it three times going up the flower overlapping as I went along.

I used the stamp for the leaves and greenery that grow with these beautiful wild flowers.

Notice this great layout? It is from Create With Connie and Mary Challenges.

The sentiment was stamped and die cut from the new Radiating Stitches Dies. These are found online and not in any publication.

These are just too cute! I love how the paper does all the work for me. Almost, everything is from the Rain or Shine Specialty Designer Series Paper!

Even the detailed bunny! That’s my favorite. The shirt is embossed and shiny!

The sentiment would be the exception. It’s from the Easter Bunny stamp set. On the ends, I used the Happy Labels Pick a Punch.

I loved this card soo much – I decided to feature it on my monthly Card Buffet! I am sure it will be a hit!

Ombre Cards with Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop

Thank you for joining us for our weekly Create with Connie and Mary Saturday blog hop!

Our theme this week is Ombre Cards.

I wanted to play with the new Hello, Irresistible Designer Series Paper, as lots of the patterns have an ombre look to them. These items are only available online, as they are online exclusive products.

The two panels, the flower, and the circle are all from the same pack of paper! I was thrilled that the 2″ Circle Punch has returned! I pulled it out and used it here!

These colors created a soft, feminine, lovely card!

Admittedly, I was stumped on this card and needed some direction. I looked up Freshly Made Sketches to help me out with the layout.

Pretty good choice, I’d say as this is a great layout!

Hello my stampin’ friends!

Welcome to our Thursday Create with Connie and Mary challenge!

Here is our current color challenge –

Some wonderful colors for . . . . . . tulips!

Wouldn’t you agree?? This Flowering Tulips and Tulip Dies is still current! And still just as lovely as can be!

After stamping the sentiment, I used the Something Fancy Dies to cut it out. It was out on my desk and worked perfectly! Do you ever do that? Use what is on hand or in front of you?

As I stamped the stems and leaves to the left of the layer, the ribbon helped to fill in the space to the right!
