Whew. Wednesday. Busy week for me, how about you?

WWC62 Leanne Tic Tac Toe Challenge

As it says, pick any three you like and create from there. Leanne, great one this week.

So, I looked at the others creations and thought, simple enough, right?

Whomp. Whomp. Whomp……Wrong.

After several tries at ‘three in a row’…….and the cat winning every time. I finally decided on this –

Whew. So how many did get?

I think I got 6 out of 9!

Across – flower and fun fold, this is a gift card, see below.

Second row across, all – embossing, butterfly and stripes.

Third row – just purple.

So, technically, a win diagonal down, second row, straight across. And, third column, vertical down!

Yay me!!! Don’t play this game with me – I’m all over the map as you can see!

In person, these colors are so, so sweet together! Tip Top Taupe and Pink Pirouette. The ribbon is retired Perfect Plum. Loved this ribbon too.

Anyway. This was truly a fun challenge. And, a lot more challenge that I thought!

Lol, like the cryptic title?

I found this cool sketch at Can You Case It –

I loved it. And I knew just where to go with it –

I pulled out my It’s My Party DSP and went right to this pattern. I have been itching to mimic these little asterisk symbols! I used a punch and they turned out perfectly!

Because of the layout of the sketch, I made a pocket card! It’s sort of reversed – but that’s ok! It works!

I think a gift card will just go perfect in the pocket. Hence, the sentiment! I choose to go with unisex colors to be able to use this gift card holder for whoever.

Butterfly Birthday Pop Up

Wake up to rain this morning. Again. Hopefully, just isolated showers…….Houston has had all the rain we can withstand.

So. Let’s talk about something more inspiring. A card. A fun card that has movement!

This was from my recent Card Buffet –

Looks like a fairly average card. Then you open it –

….and the gift card just pops up! This picture doesn’t really show that, but look how the inner Whisper White piece is attached.

I designed the inside 2 ways. Here the gift card would cover the word ‘spending’. I thought that was clever. The other way is was just below the first greeting.

I found the directions for this via the interweb and decided to give it a shot. It was way easier to make – even in my Card Buffet set up. They were thrilled!

Basic card base, 4 1/4 x 11. Three scores at 2, 7 1/4 and 7 3/8. Using the Envelope Punch Board, line up the longer scored panel end (not the 2″ side) at 1″ and punch. Flip, and do the same. Fold down and fold up. Basic card front for this style of card.

For the inside pop up piece, its 6 1/4 x 3 1/4. Score at 1 3/4 and 6.

Believe it or not. In person, the ribbon looks the same color. And, the packaging said so. However, the magic of my camera – make it look a different color. Pooh.

Go make a card and make someones day.

Ha! Ha! Ha!

If you’re not familiar with this stamp set, you’re probably scratching your head about now. It is a must have if you make a lot of gift cards.

I made a gift card for a card challenge over at TGIF Challenges , TGIFC03.

I combined several elements here to make an adorable, sure to give, want to receive, grad gift card holder.

From the onset, it looks pretty average –

Just a 4 1/4 x 4 1/4 square with a tassel.

Now. Flip this over and this is what you get –

Babies, Babies, Babies

No typo, just lots of babies these days.

I wanted to share these adorable gifts card holder I gave to two of my expecting friends this weekend –

So very sweet for a newly arriving baby boy. The gift card is secured (maybe too secure – I used lots of adhesive) on the inside pullout –

Sometimes I just at am a loss for what to buy. A gift card is a great go-to.

I made two of these as I had 2 gifts to give. Double the fun and double the fun of making these. I used a very, very retired pack of DSP, Maine Blueberry. I thought it was the perfect little baby boy paper here, nothing too ‘baby-like’.

As you can see, I have used this Mini Treat Bag Thinlits for countless gifts and gift card holders. It is a must have. And, using the right pattern paper, minimal or no decorating is needed!

Also a must have is this B.Y.O.P Stamp Set designed for frequent gift card gifts! It covers lots of occasions too!

Thought You’d Like…….

……to see what I’m up to?

Well, waiting for my order to come in…….I wanted to create something, so I decided to play with forgotten stuff today.

I pinned this card challenge from Just Add Ink.

 

It’s a cool sketch, isn’t it? I like the angle. Different. I pulled out the Maritime DSP and had a thought. Why not make a Treat Bag using this sketch idea?

So, I did. I really like this little octo-guy. He is cute. This is what I created –

Big News, Baby

That’s right, Big News. In many ways.

I’ll start first off with Stampin’ Up. They have added four new Sale-a-Bration FREE items! You can see them here. Can’t wait to play with the Vellum! And, oh that coordinating stamp set! The In-Color thick Baker’s Twine and buttons too – so many possibilities!

Secondly, due to quality issues, the Blendbilities markers are no longer available. As a free Sale-a-Bration item or to order them outright.

On to my card share for the day. It was on both my January and February Card Buffets. I have so many friends around me expecting – I was inspired.

Isn’t it adorable? I thought it was very gender neutral with this color. I was able to make several of these cards for all the upcoming new arrivals in no time.

Congratulation go out to co-workers, Melanie and Gladys, my customer, Kelly, a friend, Valerie and Charlene for upcoming great grand baby. These are all Big News for their upcoming additions. So happy for all of them.
