Abstract Background – Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop

Whew. June 2nd! Today, we have the Create with Connie and Mary Saturday blog hop!

Our theme this week features Abstract Backgrounds

This got me to thinking and looking and going through my stamp sets. Abstract? Well, decided to play with an old favorite, Swirly Bird. I used a single image stamp to create this –

It’s the sails to create a sailboat! I stamped them randomly around one another. I love the finished design!

I did play around with the coordinating colors. Way too many great new ones to choose from! Ultimately, I used a base of Smokey Slate, layers of Basic Grey and the new Granny Apple Green!

It is just a cool abstract card! I like is that its perfect for any gender!

I bet Debbie Henderson, and Mary Brown have some awesome abstract designs today! They always have wonderful work!

Watercooler Wednesday 137 – Penny’s Masculine Anything Goes Challenge

Time for a card created for Watercooler Wednesday!

Our new challenge this week is from Penny, a masculine card! We can all use ideas in this area!

I decided on something fun and bright –

libbystamps, stampin up, Swirly Bird, Happy Birthday Gorgeous, Foil Frenzy Specialty DSP, Pretty Label  Punch, 1 3/4 Circle Punch, Banner Triple Punch, WWC

This would be very appealing for a young male or even an adult!

The focal paper is the Foil Frenzy Specialty Designer Series Paper! Is this paper wonderful! You really just have to see it in person to appreciate it. The catalog does not do it just! It’s like a Crumb Cake or Kraft base with foil embossed onto it already. It’s just gorgeous!

This Lemon Lime twist pairs nicely with the Pacific Point. Both are bright and full of energy.

I’ve been creating like crazy lately! Today, I have a card designed for Create with Connie and Mary challenges.

We have some great colors to spark your creativity –

Stepped Up Sunday, Lolli

Did you see my post yesterday? I was a simple card that I created.

Today, I took the same card and ‘stepped it up’, made it a little fancier –

It’s amazing how just one detail can really give a card just what it needs!

Don’t you agree? Just by adding one piece of Emerald Envy card stock – it makes all the difference!

Both cards I made using candy sticks from the craft store for these cute lollipops!

Simple Saturday, Lolli

The title says it all. Simple Saturday.

I made two cards, one simple and one stepped up trying to decide what I liked for a mail out swap.

Here is the simple one –

I love this idea of the ‘lolli’ – so, I’ve used it several times now!

Sweet Friend Lolli, Step It Up Blog Hop

I have a busy blogging day today! It’s the first of the month!

I’m joining up with We Create again this month –

 It’s a great concept. Create two cards, one simple and one stepped up!

This is my first card. I’m going with a fun summer theme and bright colors –

Really subtle changes, but enough to up the look of the card.

As you can see, I added the ‘sweet friend’ sentiment all across the Melon Mambo as well as the DSP strip behind the Cucumber crush.
