Triple Flower Fun

Like challenges? I really enjoy card challenges. They inspire me. They get my creativity going. I’ve pinned several, as I always do and I’ve been itching to play around with some.

I have my first challenge of the year, I think. This is from CAS(E) this Sketch!, it’s Sketch 63. Very clean design. Very my style.

I immediately went to my punches. I decided on three scaled flowers. Then, I went for the corresponding stamp sets. After stamping and punching my flowers in StazOn, going for a classic black and white card, I decided it was too harsh. So, out came the Card Stock Vellum to soften things up a bit.

This is what I came up with. Clean and classic.

My base is a Note Card from Stampin’ Up. Layered with an embossed panel, my flower sits atop a Paper Doily. I sort of had to scrunch it up to make the size look better. I used Dimensionals between each layer. Added a lot of height. Hard to photograph, but in the end – it’s GORGEOUS!

After I finished the design, I decided on the sentiment. I didn’t have one to start.

Modern Medley Congratulations

Ah, the elegant combination of black and cream.

This was another choice on my November Card Buffet this past weekend. I love the elegant simplicity of it. It was a popular card too.

I started by embossing only the top inner portion of the Very Vanilla card stock. The paper was perpendicular to the folder. I used the bottom portion of the folder for this technique. After the embossing, four of the shapes were punched out in a row.

In doing so, it removed a slight embossed raised edge around each Mosaic shape. Lovely pieces left over – not sure what I’m going to do with them, something I’m sure.

A strip of DSP was added and a stamped greeting on this card. The addition of the itty bitty punched shapes with a rhinestone added that finishing touch. Done. It was a quick card. It would be great to remake for a variety of different occasions.

Grab the Money Grad

Yes, another graduation card share. And, a funny title too, you think?

Half the time, I don’t know what to name these posts. So, since this one had visible money in it, seemed appropriate. ‘Cause what graduate doesn’t like receiving money?? And, oh ya, run with this money, it’s a folded $1.00 bill!

Looking at my post and trying get creative in writing, I had to stop and just laugh. My numbers are all caddywhompus. That’s the beauty of using Tombow, or green glue! It dries that quick. Lol. So, yes, I know my numbers are a bit, uneven.

Anyway, I really love this card. It is unique. I made it a while back as I was brainstorming ideas for the buffet. Well, this one got shoved under some stuff and forgotten about. Sad. So sad. I WILL have to pull this out next year and recreate it. As you can see, it was pretty simple. Basic stampin’ and punchin’.

I did get a little fancy with the Illuminate Glimmer Watermark Stampin’ Pad on the background. Yes, a bit hard to see, but it’s there.

Now, the only trick to this is everything is double dimensionaled (is that even a word??). Meaning – stack two dimensionals a top one another for extra height. That allows for the money, or check to slip in nicely!

Pretty sweet, isn’t it? I think so!

Teddy Bear Baby

Teddy Bear Baby was made for welcoming a new baby. A new baby of a blogging friend of mine, Nicole! We post about the same time everyday and send each other nice comments on our cards. I have even used a design of hers or two. She has inspired me to take part in more card challenges. And, I just found out they had a new little boy. So, she was part of my inspiration for today!

The other parts of inspiration come from Dynamic Duos color challenge. This time around the colors were Daffodil Delight and Baja breeze. Perfect baby boy colors! And, my layout design comes from Techno Stamper. It’s the Monday Lunchtime Sketch, #262. Combine the two and what a great combination to create a sweet little number like my card here.

I am pleased with my stamped background paper, it’s cute little teddy bears! I just added scraps of the colors required for the challenge and I’m done. That’s a real good reason not to throw those little pieces away!

Congratulations again Nicole on your newest family member! Enjoy my interweb baby happiness!
