Welcome to the Create with Connie and Mary Thursday challenge! This is the first of three posts today!! Yes, I’ve been very busy!

Here is our newest challenge –

I created a simply fun fall birthday card using the sketch –

libbystamps, Stampin' Up!, Perennial Birthday, Country Lane DSP, Share What You Love Specialty, Leaf Punch, 1 3/8" Scallop Circle Punch, Daisy Punch, Softly Falling EF, CCMC

Nice, right? I used two different Designer Series Papers, the back, wood-look one is from Country Lane and the kraft pattern on top is from the Share What You Love Specialty. They work very well together.

I punched the sunflower centers first, then embossed them using the Softly Falling Embossing Folder. I liked the random look it leaves. It makes the ‘daisy’ punches resemble sunflowers even more!

A little punched leaf is tucked behind the flower and it is done!

Hello my stampin’ friends! Time to share another card inspiration for Create with Connie and Mary! This week – a color challenge!

Such wonderful, soft colors full of feeling!

I decided to try out a new Sale-a-Bration stamp, Heartfelt Blooms. It was just the perfect stamp for these colors that evoked a mood –

Isn’t this pretty? This is a very unique stamp in which it looks like a picture when you stamp it. I can not wait to play with it some more! I think it will be very popular this January!

Happy Wednesday my blogging friends! Time to create for Watercooler Wednesday!

Our challenge today comes from Gail –

My inspiration and color choice came from the Naturally Eclectic Designer Series Paper. That’s what I used to create the candles. It was a scrap from one of the papers I had. Worked perfect for this candle idea. The flames are created using the Tree Builder Punch.

Happy Blooming Birthday

So, it’s time for a new two-week challenge from Try Stampin’ on Tuesday –

Challenge #321. Optional Theme : As the Garden Grows

This is a great theme and layout as things are blooming everywhere! So, why not a blooming birthday card??

Isn’t this just the prettiest? I really had forgotten about this stamp set and framelits pair. Sadly, it’s about to retire from Stampin’ Up. I decided I needed to play with it a few more times before it goes to sit on the shelf so more!

The flower is actually two flowers layered together with a dimensional in between them. Of course, a few more behind the flowers and designer series paper layer too! Adds so much drama!

The embossed panel added just enough interest for the card. Makes it a little more dressy!

JOY for CCMC

I’m not sure about you, but I’m needing to find a little ‘joy’ lately!

It’s Thursday and that usually does it. It’s Create with Connie and Mary challenge time!

This week we’ve got a color challenge to get your creative energies flowing –

Elegant colors I must say!

I couldn’t decide how I wanted to use the colors: birthday, Thanksgiving or Christmas……….well, I decided on Christmas –

I liked the idea of the bold letters in copper!

By itself, the card was a little plain. Adding the thin strips of navy, plus the little ‘tassels’ were just the addition this card needed!

The embossed background added to the wintry feel of the card too!

Spooky House for WWC84

So. I finally got the inspiration for our challenge at Watercooler Wednesday this week!

Sometimes being on the design team, you get stuck just like anyone else!

This is our terrific challenge from Deb –

I loved it when I saw it, but I was just as stumped with what to create…..

After looking at what the others made and looking at comments, I went to the new DSP we have in the mini catalog.I liked the idea if the pattern that could be used as a focal point. Then, it all came together.

Here is the big reveal –

I seem to love using these letters. They are too versatile!!

Initially, my card was on just the Basic Grey base. It looked fine, but the addition of the embossed layer really added flair. Additionally, mounting the scene on the black too added just the right amount of oompf.
