“I Just Called to Say I Love You” – Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop

Inspiring you with another 80’s tune this week at our Create with Connie and Mary Saturday blog hop!

Our theme this week features wedding or anniversary cards from the song, ‘I just called to say I love you’! You can hear that in your head, can’t you?? Lol!!

This seemed to be the perfect time to pull out the Love You to Pieces Bundle! I hadn’t played with this yet.

This was so fun to create!

I started with framelit cutting the first puzzle set in Basic Black. Then I decided I was going to use a Whisper White panel on the front of the card, of which I cut another set of puzzle pieces out of.

I mounted the Whisper White onto the Real Red card base then began filling in the pieces of the puzzle leaving one out.

I stamped and framelit cut the heart. I had to adhere a circle on the back to keep these pieces together. When cut, it’s also a ‘puzzle’. I wanted a solid piece here.

I added the washi tape around the puzzle, then along the bottom of the card. It’s just what it needed. I popped up the heart sentiment and called it a lovely card to express sweet love!

Watercooler Wednesday 131 – Kath’s All About Birthdays Challenge

Happy Wednesday my friends! Time for a challenge from Watercooler Wednesday.

We have a can’t miss challenge this week from Kath –

….because we always need birthday cards. And, we are always creating them!

I was in a watercolor mood going with this bright beauty –

Isn’t it pretty??

Very easy too. I used a clear block smeared in ink on wet Watercolor Paper to get the background effect. I used two alternating colors. Let it dry and then added the washi tape and the framelit sentiment. No stamping either! Can you believe it?

This worked best adhering the Watercolor Paper onto Thick Whisper White card stock once dry. The regular was way too flimsy and curled with the thickness of the Watercolor Paper.

The Melon Mambo bow is retired ribbon, but it was perfect here.

Back to our Saturday Blog Hop. Our theme this week is Black and white.

This is perfect because I love to create in black and white. I went with a favorite bundle of mine –

The Oh So Eclectic Bundle. Isn’t this just the prettiest? Although it’s monochromatic, it’s still so cheerful!

The focal point and the leaves are all popped up! The Mini-sized Dimensionals sure came in handy behind the leaves. They are so tiny! No more cutting them in half!
