Happy St. Patrick’s Day

Yes, Happy St. Patrick’s Day! Nice way to start you week, huh? Just makes Tuesday all the more difficult!

This is one of the cards from my last Buffet. I decided to wait until today to share it with you. I know, makes it hard to replicate this way. Sorry. Pin it for next year.

It was a really simple and quick card. The Gold Foil Paper just works so well here.

I made my shamrocks with the Pansy Punch. Although they are four petals instead of three. Three didn’t fold over correctly. Paper flowers are so much fun!

Well, whether you are on Spring Break, back to the same old routine, or whatever, enjoy the day!

……and don’t forget to wear green, irish or not!

Fall Flower Fun

Lovely flowers I’d say!

I’ve been sick for the past few days and haven’t been able to do anything! Puts a damper on a paper crafting blog. I have a few challenges I wanted to play along with but, my stomach had other plans.

I’m back in the game. Sadly, I wasn’t the first to post for Stamping Peaches Paper Challenge. I have been the first the past few weeks – it’s just a quest of mine. They have a color challenge this week, Early Espresso, Cajun Craze and Gumball Green. Wow, what colors to combine. Fall at it’s best.

So, flowers for me I decided. A lovely fall bouquet that will be perfect for my class next weekend. I have several paper flower collections going. I just love flowers. Paper or real. Except that paper last a lot longer. And, you can really customize the colors.

Here, the base flower is Cajun Craze with an Early Espresso (retired) pattern DSP in the center. I made double flowers with some added dimension. The top flower has been notched out and glued over. I used Tombow, but a glue gun would have gone faster. The centers are the newer 7/8 Scallop Circle Punch. They fit nicely into the curved flower. The leaves are (retired) Small Oval Punch scored in the center, folded and secured in between the flower layers.

I was skeptical at first about my creation. Now that I see it in a photo – I love it! It makes feel better, as flowers do!

Happiness

Happiness. What a sweet thing, happiness. And, what a sweet thing, this card share for today.

I was inspired at 11:30 pm last night, yes, I had to work today, to create this little Happiness card. I wanted to make something for The Paper Players Challenge #147. The challenge said “it’s a great way to use up scraps, mix and match patterns and textures, or anything your heart and mind can imagine!!!” I sort of complied.

The (I think) So Saffron piece of DSP came from an old packet from a Stampin’ Up Regional. Um, ya, I never completed that project. The flower was from my box of stuff that I thought I was going to use, but, obviously didn’t! And, who doesn’t have scraps of ribbon lying about their crafty area?

So, voila! With a little trimming, a little stampin’, a little tying, a card is created! And, a lovely card at that, if I do say so myself! This was a fun challenge even though I didn’t have a great mix of patterns or papers.
