Don’t you just love Mondays?

For me, it’s just another day in the week. I married a shift worker, so the typical M-F, 9 to 5 means nothing to me. However, I woke up feeling blah, so I couldn’t get it in gear to create something for a card challenge. I must be really ill, you’re thinking?

I have several cards from my May Card Buffet that I have not shared with you. So, that’s what I will do today. Share a buffet creation. I did include a photo of the May Card Buffet below. I’ll try to post more of those cards soon. There are some nice ones on there. See for yourself.

Back to my share for today. I really love these colors together, Pool Party and Rich Razzleberry. I am not a fan of the Rich Razzleberry by itself, but paired with Pool Party, it’s one of my favorites!

This was also a favorite at the buffet. A very clean, simple card. Sad that this Friendly Phrases greeting has retired. The button was from the Sale-a-Bration freebie too.

Guess I’ll get back to reorganizing my colors – ink pads and papers…….

Pinwheel Baby Fun

Pinwheels. Love these fun 3-D additions to a card! Don’t you? Just look at how fun & sweet my card share is today!

My inspiration came from two places. The colors for my card, Bashful Blue and Midnight Muse are from Dynamic Duos Color Challenge #54 this week. And, the wonderful layout comes from Technostamper. This is the Monday Lunchtime Sketch #265.

Why a baby card? No new babies to speak of. But, inspiration can come from odd places. Mine came after I read about the newborn baby boy stuck in a pipe in China. So, it just struck me to combine the two challenges to create this adorable number for him. Although, he doesn’t necessarily have new parents yet.

I just went through stuff I had. The ribbon is long since retired. Same for the punch that I made a simple, cute border to tie in the colors. I thought the center of the pinwheel coordinated well with the border, don’t you? And, you guessed it. My base is Naturals White, but my stamped image is on regular Whisper White. The naturals card stocks do not accept stampin’ too well. My pinwheel started life as a retired 3×3 piece of DSP, one of those 6×6 paper packs we had at one time.

All in all, I LOVE how this turned out. Now, I really want to find someone special to receive this card!

Happy New Home

Happy new home to Kelsey and Richard! They have just bought their first home! I am SO happy for them.

Seems like this is the thing to do these days. My second new home card in just a few short weeks. Yes, I would have liked to use my door again, but, eh, I went with something different.

I saw a picture of their lovely home. It was the perfect shade of blue to work with. I stumbled upon (another) challenge blog at SU Only Challenges. This was another color challenge, but to use only one color and an accent color. So, this is what I came up with using Baja Breeze. I am thrilled!

In looking through all my Stampin’ Up sentiments, it was difficult to find one appropriate for a new home. I just created my own from Friendly Phrases. I just used a Stampin’ Write Marker to color in what I wanted to say and done! I was able to get the exact phrase I needed. The addition of the big letters finished it off.

Kelsey and Richard, I hope you have the best life in your new home. Congratulations, again!
