I have a cute share today.

Don’t you ever have lots of scraps from creations that don’t make the cut or that are left over from classes? I do. And, although they are not organized in any fashion, I dig through them to make random cards.

At my February Card Buffet, I made one of those neat pop open cards. Each one required almost a whole sheet of card stock. So, I had all these left over strips. Some were scored.

I needed a card to send to my daughter, so, I just started playing around with a variety of ‘stuff’.

This is the front of my card. It’s a little one –

See how all the critters are all just looking at you? It’s cute, right?

This is how I added a little 3-D to the inside –

One is flat against the back. One is just behind the circle. And the last in somewhere in between. Kind of cool, the magic of stacked Dimensionals.

Yes, there was lots of fussy cutting. But, the end result was worth it.

I really think these ‘critters’ are adorable.

21 Birthday Wishes, Leah

Wow! It’s been a long time since you’ve seen me. And, I’ve got lots of cards to catch up on!

I’ll start by posting a very special wish for one of my customers. Leah.

Today she turns……..can you guess? Yes, 21!

Other than her special birthday, my inspiration came from Fab Friday. It’s a sketch challenge, see –

Just perfect for showcasing the focal point of my card, 21.

Love it! I just pulled strips of color to create this. A piece of ribbon from my stash, and, oh yes. this sparkly stuff Stampin Up retired.

In order to stamp ‘Birthday’ and ‘Wishes’ separately, I used tape to mask off the other word I didn’t need.

The small numbers came from the File Tab Framelits. Never used the file tabs, just the numbers!

Quick and easy and not fussy.

Leah started attending my Card Buffets with her mom some time ago. I enjoy visiting with her and the friends she brings. And, she loves the music I play!

I hope you have a wonderful birthday, Leah! You deserve it!

Thinking of You Blended Bloom

Sneaking in a little crafty time. Again! Yippee. I have an order of new catalog stuff on the way – I can not wait!!! But, until then, I’ll play with cool stuff I have and ‘need’ to play with as well.

I decided to go with a couple of things today. A sketch challenge and a color challenge – because I need some direction!

The sketch comes from The Sweetest Thing. It’s their Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge. SSSC234, here, a visual –

Very nice. Clean. Simple.

Now, the color challenge. I have a few pinned but went with Creative Challenge Club this time. See the colors here –

Fun and bright. I like these, gets me to thinking.

I played around with a few different options. Ultimately, this is my final design –

Oh, I love it! Nice balance of color in the sketch.

This Blended Bloom flower is so fun. Even if you don’t color the flower with the Blendabilities Markers!! Just about everyone of these flowers is colored. Gah! Why? It’s a gorgeous flower. Alone.

I didn’t have any buttons or brads, so I just punched out the little circles in card stock. It worked here.

All For You, Birthday Girl

Happy Friday everyone! I have a special birthday card share today.

I got my inspiration from Techno Stampers. It’s their Monday Lunchtime Sketch 324, TSSC324. See the sketch –

It really lead me in the right direction. The card is for my mom! Today is her birthday! See my take –

I just went with a variety of products here and just kept building upon each of them. The doily was a start. I really like the old fashion DSP pattern from All Bloom. That became a nice circle focal point. The addition of the Simply Pressed Clay flowers was a nice a balance. They really match the ‘style’ of the paper.

I have decided that after all the retired DSP I have, I’m going to use it. Here, I decided to use it on the front of the card and also to make an envelope liner. Love, love, love those envelope liners! I just flipped the DSP over.

The inside of the card holds a nifty surprise too –

Isn’t that cool? A nifty trick using the Word Window Punch. Love this idea to turn a simple card into a gift card holder.

Well, I’m off to celebrate my mom on her birthday!

Delicate Ombre Birthday Wishes

Wow, what a response yesterday on my Tuesday Tips. That’s a hard act to follow!

But I am playing along with a sketch challenge today. It’s from CAS(E) this Sketch! –

I needed to make a Birthday card for Crystal. Happy Birthday, Crystal!!

I liked this layout for an ombre paper technique I’ve been wanting to try. Brandi challenged me to use the Delicate Details Lace Tape too. So, this is what I came up with using all these ideas –

Cool, huh? I like the effect. I’m definitely going to play around with this graduated color effect again.

I used the Large Scallop Edgelit Die  that I’ve never even used before to create these scallops. I added the lace tape on top and under the last scallop. The rhinestones added a little flair.

My base is Naturals White Card Stock for a little contrast. I’m on the fence about that choice. But, it’s done.

Comparing my card to the challenge, I love it. And, more importantly, Crystal will too!
