It’s been a couple of weeks since I’ve posted for try Stampin on Tuesday. Although we have a new challenge every week, the design teams participate every other week.

This is my week. Here is the great sketch to inspire us –

I really, really liked this sketch!

I love traditional red and green for Christmas, but……..green and black – too pretty as well!

Happy Sunday! Quick share before the Card Buffet.

Did you happen to se my card from yesterday? It was a nice, clean one layer card that I CASed from my blogging friend over at My Beauty Scraps.

Today, I stepped it up a bit –

Happy Birthday, Simple Saturday

Taking a brief break from my Card Buffet prep to show two cards this weekend.

This card is a clean and simple, CASE card from a fellow blogging friend, Danica Ferrante from My Beauty Scraps. I loved it way back when she created it and ran across it again as I was prepping for my class.

This is how I CASed the card –

Pretty much how she stamped it.

What I was drawn to was the fact it’s a one layer card. That can be rather hard to execute effectively. But, she nailed it!

And, you just might see it or tomorrows ‘stepped up’ version on the Card Buffet Sunday!

Feeling Special Today, CCMC405

It’s Thursday – you know what that means? It time for another Create with Connie and Mary challenge!

We alternate our weekly challenges between color to create with and layouts to follow. This week it’s a layout –

I like this layout. I created this card in no time. Going with the Mother’s Day again. I loved the colors of my card.

Every mom wants to feel special – especially on Mother’s Day.

The DSP is from the 6×6 Go Wild pack. Believe it or not, this pattern had the tiny little Tip Top Taupe slash lines running along the edge. That is the color I used to create the leaves behind the flowers.

And, yes, I used two different framelit sets here. The flower is from Botanical Builder and the leaves is from the Rose Garden Thinlits. So, yes, pulling all sorts of products out!

As you can see, it created a lovely card fit for mom or really anyone else!

Botanical Mother’s Day

I had a fabulous Card Buffet this past weekend! We all so much fun!

One of the popular cards on the Buffet was this one –

A demonstrator friend of mine, Sherri, recently made this at one of her classes. I loved it!! She got her idea from Sharon Burkert. I just had to ‘try’ it. I didn’t see any instructions on her site, so I had to figure it out myself!

After several attempts to get the border symmetrical – yes, I had trouble with it – lots of trouble………I did finally get it!

After I did, I though, I have to create a pattern for my stampers to follow. If not, we’re going to have lots of wasted card stock. So, I came up with this –

It’s placement instructions for the die so it’s comes out (relatively) symmetrical. The front of the pattern creates the left side.

Opening and flipping the card creates the right side. And, yes, I wrote on my framelit with a sharpie. It needed to be simple and clear what to do.

I love to give my customers tips to make using items like this way better for them. ‘Cause if they don’t know how to use them – it’s a waste of money for them.

Admittedly, I did not like this framelit from the set at all. But, I loved the way this card turned out.

The red flower is cut from the same framelit set. The Mother’s Day sentiment came from the April Paper Pumpkin kit.

It was pretty easy and everyone loved the ease of the directions. Wahoo!!!

Try Stampin’ Or Not On Tuesday, # 267

Whew. We survived ALL the rain Monday – I’m in the greater Houston area – and Sunday night/early Monday morning we were hit with massive rains that flooded several parts of the city. Bad.

I am happy that I am able to share my Design Team submission from Try Stampin’ Or Not On Tuesday.

Challenge 268 has a nice variety of elements here.

I pulled out several DSP’s trying to decide what was perfect for this sketch. For some reason, I thought I needed to start with DSP as my foundation.

And, that was the right choice here. I hadn’t played around with my newly received Botanical Framelits so I was excited to try them out here. I went with a single flower like the sketch. Although, I did cut several out just to play with them!

It’s a sweet card that I can’t wait to mail out.

I am lovin’ having all these cards made in my stash. Not only is it convenient, it’s cool to say i used this card for a challenge as well!
