21 Birthday Wishes, Nicki

Happy Monday! Well, for some it is. Especially if it’s their birthday!

And, todays birthday girl is Nicki! She is a regular at my monthly Card Buffets. I just love to hear what she does with the cards at the next class. So many of us are card hoarders of such. But, not her. She actually gives hers away. Makes me happy.

So, for her birthday, I decided to create her a card. I went with a sketch from Mojo Monday. How appropriate, right?

Nice sketch for what I had in mind. I decided to go with something a little more girly, but still fun. This is my take –

And, yes, I used the 2 and 1 from this card! Never throw things like that away!

This card uses some retired items. I love the candle paper. It’s SO birthday! And the stamp is a retired Sale-A-Bration set, So Happy For You.

This card just came together nicely. I like those kind. Don’t you? And, I’m sure Nicki will too!

You’re How Old?

You’re how old? Of course I’d never ask, and she’d most likely never tell……

This is a silly, cute little 3×3 card made for a dear friend I used to work with, Erica. She would usually be off work for her birthday and it wouldn’t be until way after that I’d get her card to her. Well, a virtual card is better than no card – so here it is.

I whipped this little cutie up from some new products that are available today! A new Mini catalog is here and items are available to purchase today!

I used the Just Sayin’ stamp set and the coordinating framelits, Word Bubbles. Both are way too cute! We can always use another framelit set, right? Hand cutting images is so yesterday, lol!

I thought the sentiment went quite well with the number pattern DSP from Birthday Basics. And, yes, my circle is askew. I didn’t want it to be straight.

I added a little girly touch with some flowers from Everything Eleanor. They were already cut and just sitting in my work area sayin’, “use me or clean me up”! So, well, a nice addition.

I also couldn’t refuse making an envelope liner either. Tied everything together. You can’t go wrong with a 3×3 card.

So, my dear friend Erica, have a wonderful birthday! I’m thinking about you these days!

Lots of Thanks

Happy November 1st! Wow, before we know it, it’s Thanksgiving and then Christmas! My head is just shakin’ at how time has gone by so quickly…..

Focus.

I have my regulars who come out to stamp. And, at my last Card Buffet, some of the regulars brought some of their friends, which made them new to my class. Always glad to have frequent stampers and new faces at my classes.

Both the new people traveled a great distance to come out. I was so thrilled! One doesn’t do email, so I decided to send her a card showing my gratitude for making the drive out.

This is what I sent her. I just started putting elements together and the result was lovely!

The Basic Grey was embossed from another project that didn’t go as planned, so, I just punched a circle in it. Added the numbered DSP paper behind the circle along with a tied piece of ribbon to the side. Stamped a retired greeting and called it a card, a finished card!

Whatever the reason, go make a card and go make someones day!

Cracker for a Challenge

Cracker for a challenge? Oh my – I just made myself laugh at loud hysterically! That title….too funny.

Now, let’s get to typing. I made these Christmas crackers for two reasons. First, they were my Team Meeting swaps, nice, huh? And, secondly, I loved this color combination (once I got it correct!!).

The color combination comes from – you guessed it – a challenge. This is from Create with Connie & Mary, again. Only this time, its color! CCMC274, Raspberry Ripple, Soft Sky, and Very Vanilla.

Initially, I had my Pool Party and Soft Sky scraps switched in my scrap drawers. That is now fixed! Whew. And, I was able to correctly complete all 10 of these beauties! Gah!

I just love how they turned out. I couldn’t stop taking photos of these. Anyways. I made ten treats. My current ribbon supply these days is about nil, I thought they looked just fine without ribbon.

I am such a detail oriented person. Notice the little design on my stamped image? Looks very similar to the little design on the paper, doesn’t it? Cool, huh? The pearl is just the right touch here.

Get this, these are Christmas Crackers, right? I didn’t even use Christmas DSP. I used Birthday Basics DSP! These look like Christmas to me!

By the way, yes, these are very easy to make. And, they are made with the Envelope Punch Board!!! How great is that? Yet another use for the EPB!

Framelit Flip Birthday Card

Have you been following me the past few days? Whew! Hard to top the previous posts!

I’m sharing something simple today.

This was one of the cards on my August Card Buffet. I showed off lots of new products. And, I just had to show this new Circle Card Thinlit Die. Surprisingly, this worked well, buffet style! I have such wonderful customers!

I went with the Birthday Basics DSP panels on the two sides. In order to do this, you have to start with a piece of card stock the size of the framelit. It worked out well. Some simple stamping and one punch and done!

This card really only looked intimidating. Once everyone tried it, they were thrilled with really just how easy it was.

Isn’t it just adorable?
