Celebrate Baby Baby

As I’m looking for inspiration for my Card Buffet, I like to take time to play along the way. Not everything I make is for my classes.

As I’ve posted before, there are lots of expectant mothers to be around me. So, I guess I’m in a baby card making mood.

I have new stuff to play with too. I just need some direction. I liked this sketch from Techno Stamper. It’s their Monday Lunchtime Sketch. It just looked fun! See –

I thought it’d work well with the Celebrate Today stamp set and the Balloon Framelits Dies. I also decided to incorporate some Sale-a-Bration DSP into the mix. This is my take on the sketch –

I wasn’t sure how I’d like this stamp set and framelits. After playing around with them to create this card, I LOVE them!

I used colors from the DSP, pairing it with pink. Guess I was thinking ‘girl’, but, this could easily have been on a blue card base as well. This card just came together effortlessly. I used some retired taffeta ribbon to ‘tie’ it together. No pun intended….

Lotus Love, Again

So, as I told you Thursday, I designed a project for my last Card Buffet and realized I didn’t have enough paper.

After placing an order, and yes, ordering the wrong paper, I went back to the design board. This is what I came up with –

Whew. It was a total hit! I’m sure the treat bag would have been too – it’s just this particular project created a bit of stress.

Everything was the same here. I liked the idea of the Lotus Blossom on the inside too. It gave stampers a chance to practice this neat idea of triple stamping!

I’m off to go finish prep work for my February Card Buffet this weekend. If you are interested, I’ll post the board on my Facebook page sometime today.

Lotus Love

At my January Card Buffet, I wanted to feature the Sale-a-Bration stamp set, Lotus Blossom and I wanted to show the new Treat Bag Thinlit Die.

I designed this project using both items –

Quite nice, right?

My ‘blossom’ is stamped in Crisp Cantaloupe for the fist two stamps. The last stamp was Blushing Bride. it just smoothed everything out.

Well…….I realized I did not have quite enough card stock to make the amount of projects I needed. On top of that, I order the wrong color card stock to make this for class. Ugh.

Back to the drawing board to design another project……stay tuned.
