Happy Together Tulips

A special request. It’s nice when family requests a handmade, personalized card for an occasion.

Sometimes though, you need a starting point after all your own ideas are not cutting it.

I turned to Create with Connie and Mary for my inspiration here –

It’s a unique sketch that I was drawn to. I felt that it would work for what I wanted to create. My vision.

So, combining a few requested elements, this is what I came up with –

Sort of quirky. Sort of spring-like. Really sweet.

Each tulip I hand punched three times from the Bird Builder Punch. Whew. Lots of punching! And, gluing.

Since the soft color of the Mint Macaron looked like grass – well, I fringed the top.

Hard to tell, but all the tulips are popped up on the Color Me Irresistible Specialty Paper. It comes with plain colorable sheets and already colored, embossed looking sheets. it was a nice added touch.

All in all, I liked how it turned out. We shall see if it’s approved! Because, it’s done!

Welcome Home, Weekly Deals for June 16

Ha – Ha. Sort of a double post today which should have been yesterday.

I made this cute little tiny card for my daughter who is home for the week in between college classes –

I used one the James Avery charms that recently came out. And, I combined it with the Sweetheart Punch that is on the Weekly Deals for the week. Just a terrific  combination!

I markered the ‘welcome’ from the stamp set, And Many More. It was the perfect scale for the ‘HOME’ on the charm.

Three for Halloween

As I’m getting ready for a Card Buffet tonight, I am ‘cleaning’ up things. I ran across this card that was on last months Card Buffet. I thought I’d share it with you.

I like to use items multiple times to show off the versatility of a stamp or framelit set. Last month I showed the Curvy Keepsake Box and made a pumpkin – you’ve seen them – they’re everywhere. But, this set also comes with three little tags. Most people overlook these.

So, I created a cute card using those little tags –

I used the faces from the Fall fest Photopolymer set. The ‘hair’ or ‘stems’ are the Old Olive Thick Baker’s Twine tied through the loops in the tags.

Cute. Cute. Cute.

It was a very simple, yet striking card for Halloween. And Many More supplied the ‘Happy Halloween’ sentiment. That’s a great set to have.

Hah! Two back to back posts!

I had to post this one.

HAPPY TWENTY FOUR BIRTHDAYS to my dearest daughter!!

You’ve seen the stuff I’ve made over the years. This year, no different. Maybe a little because I didn’t take time to take pictures of the banner and gift. I did however take a picture of the card.

I was inspired by Techno Stamper: Monday Lunchtime Sketch. I loved this sketch too. Look at the fun angle –

It made for a really fun card. See –

It was hard to photograph because of the super shiny sticker letters I used. Here is another shot –

Too bad I did not take a picture of the banner or gift – the card matched perfectly! (As always…..)

This was a simple card to execute. The stamping was the only challenging part because it needed to be lined up. It’s from the stamps set, And Many More.

Now, back to my daughter, birthday girl, to whom I owe this card to. Lots of love to you on your TWENTY FOURTH BIRTHDAY!!! Lots of love across the miles on your special day!
