Thanks for joining me today!
Yesterday I showed a beautifully done simple flower card.
Well……it actually took me two tries to complete the card! And, it wasn’t because of the flower! It was because of the crookedly stamped sentiment!!!! Grrrrrrr!
This was what I did with that card in attempt to use it anyway –
I added randomly stamped sentiments, light and dark since the first was so off. I added the Stitched With Whimsy border. The card wasn’t to my liking, so I created it again.
And, how did I stamp it in the first place?
Let me refresh you on what I used. It is the lower right butterfly stamp from A Touch of Ink stamp set –
So this is how I created it –
Each card front above shows one stamped image added to the previous stamped images. Stamping a total of 6 butterflies to create my flower.
I used Bumblebee ink. I stamped the flower once. Rotated the card stock a bit. I re-inked and stamped a third of the way over a second time, slightly overlapping. Rotate card base again. To complete the flower base layer, I stamped it a third time, also slightly overlapping both edges.
To create the finished, full flower, I just repeated the 3 steps starting slightly over in the circle to ‘fill in’ the ‘petal’ areas.
I repeated this with the center dots, stamping twice for light and dark going around the flower until it was filled.
Pretty neat, huh?
So which do you like better?
Personally, I still like the simple flower that I showed yesterday.
I’d love your comments!
- Stamp Set – A Touch of Ink
- Dies / Embossing – Stitched With Whimsy
- Card Stock – Basic White
- Ink – Bumblebee

absolutely LOVE how you started off w a sentiment not stamped to your liking (crooked???) and then just stamped it several more times in wonky positions so your *mistake* no longer looks like a mistake but like part of the plan!!! how very clever!!!

Like most stampers, I strive for perfection in stamping. However, it’s not always easy. I thought it was a good idea to show what to do / how to fix a stamped image when this does happen. Thank you for your wonderful compliment!
