It’s Tuesday. You know what that means? Crafty organizational tip time!
What I’m sharing today is sort of unfair. Up until now, everything has been something that you are able to find readily and at a reasonable price.
Today that’s not so the case.
Sadly, scrapbook stores have struggled to stay open. Being fortunate to live near a few stores that have closed over the years, I’ve been able to take advantage of their closing.
To start with here, I have a slat wall 4×4. I have one side up against my Stenstorp from Ikea. As you can see, the other two sides are packed! I have had the 4×4 for several years. Recently, I had an addition.
On two sides I have plastic paper trays that hold all my DSP. One side is most of my retired DSP. The other side is current DSP.
When Archivers closed (tear), I went several times, but really didn’t buy anything until the end. They ended up having what looked like an abundance of these plastic paper trays for slat wall. I initially bought what I thought I needed and quickly realized that my slats were narrow (yeah!!), so I needed more. Several more. And, at only a $1.00 per tray – bargain – I quickly ran back out. (Internet research, cheapest, $3.00.)
In the center are my retired Stampin’ Up Ribbon in nifty holders. I have lots & lots of ribbon too. Still more in a drawer, larger rolls that take lots of space.
These holders I acquired long ago when I purchased the 4×4 they are on. From another scrap store that closed. Funny thing, the only remaining scrapbook store close to me bought several of these too. We were both wanting these as they became empty.
I really do not like the wasted space in between each rack, but it works for now.
This last picture shows the side view of the ribbon holders. ‘Mrs Grossmans’. Lol!! These were originally for large roll, tear off stickers. They work for ribbon too as you can see.
My current ribbon is stored in a ribbon holder shelf that I purchased online. It’s not my favorite. It has become a collector of other craft items – not good. So, no picture of that.
This was hard to photograph as my room is sort of close. So that’s why the double tip today.
Did you see my other storage tips I’ve posted over the past weeks? These are direct links to the blog postings for each, framelits storage, stamp storage, and scrap paper storage.
This has taken some time to read. Please take a few more minutes and leave a comment. As a blogger, we like comments!
Happy Stampin’
