Looking to see a fun share today? Well, you got it.
I received the fun little Stampin’ Up Hostess Set, Making a Point awhile ago. I’ve been itching to create something – I just didn’t know what.
As I’m getting ready for a Card Buffet next weekend, I ran across a perfect sketch at Always Playing with Paper. I immediately got off track and thought of those little nail polish bottles! Here is their sketch –
Very simple. Perfect I thought. One drawback. I had to rotate the sketch to accommodate these little darlings. It just didn’t ‘look’ right the other way. See –
I LOVED how this turned out. I was a bit stumped on the colors, but after trying all sorts of scraps, I like this final ‘In-Color’ result.
I started by stamping the image in StazOn. Then I used the Stampin’ Write Markers to color the bottles. Rose Red – believe it or not, old marker I guess and then filled the bottle in with Crystal Effects. (When is the last time you used that??) Let it dry over night and finished the card.
Here is a close up. I liked the way the Crystal Effects dried, sort of made a rounded bubbling effect.
Well, thanks for another great sketch Lesley! You are truly talented with all your work. You always seem to inspire me!
Let me know how I’ve inspired you with a comment!
Happy Stampin’

Very pretty card! I love the how the Crystal Effects looks on your nail polish images. You’re right–this card needed to be turned horizontally to make it look right. So glad that I clicked on the black photo on Lesley’s site to see your beautiful card.
🙂 Marie
Thanks for stopping by to look at my card! I’m glad you liked it. It was fun to make too. patience as the Crystal Effects dried! I appreciate the info about the black square, looking into why it did that.
What a darling take on the sketch, Libby! Love that you used crystal effects-it looks terrific on the bottles! Thanks for joining me again and I am so happy you were inspired!
