Happy Spring everyone! March 20.
A lot of you are just finishing up Spring Break and some of you are just starting. Whatever the case, hope it will be enjoyable. One of my girls just finished, the other one just started their Spring Break. We are experiencing such beautiful weather here in Texas! Sunny 75 degree days and a nice cool down to 65 at night. Aaahhhh, so nice.
I made this card really in honor of *Spring*, but really for my husband.
He just loves trees. Our backyard proves tha!. Since we have moved – 5 years ago – to this new house – we have planted 14 trees! It brings so much life to our home. In addition, we have several bird feeders up that attract a variety of birds. Hence the cute little Ridinghood Red bird on the card!
Card base is Ridinghood Red. The Chocolate Chip tree from Season Of Friendship is stamped on Whisper White. The leaves were an interesting addition because you will be quite surprised as to where they cam from. I was die cutting the Sizzix Lattice in Old Olive when I had all these oval shapes left over. I kept them and decided that I might be able to use them later. Well, sure enough. I did. I cut another Lattice out of Certainly Celery and had just enough leaves. I glued them randomly about the branches of the tree, leaving space for the bird. The grass is a strip of scrap Certainly Celery just sliced all the way down and glued on the edge.
The words are cut from the terrific, Billboard Decorative Sizzlits Strip in So Saffron.
There. A sweet, simple card to honor spring and my hubby who loves his trees…..and his birds!
Happy Stampin’
Libby
