The was the FAVORITE at my November class. You can see why –
Nice, huh?
Yes, I have seen variations of a door card, but they just did not look right to me. And, as you know me, I like to stamp my own thing.
SS – Woodgrain, Sincere Salutations
I – Crumb Cake, Chocolate Chip
CS – Wild Wasabi, Very Vanilla, Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake
P – 2 3/4 Scallop Circle, 1 3/8 Circle
M – Real Red
D – Scallop Rectangle Clearlit, Lattice Embossing Folder, Petals – a – Plenty Embossing Folder
O – office store brad, Martha Stewart score board
I started with a retired Long Notes Set and used the Wild Wasabi. The Cherry Cobbler and Very Vanilla layers are 1/8 difference. I cut the *doormat* first, then stamped it, then ran it through the Lattice Embossing Folder to give it texture, like a doormat would have.
For the actual *door*, I flipped my card stock to the backside. I drew lines 1/4 all the way around the card stock and also in the upper middle. The lines overlap. I used the Martha Stewart score board (a must have board) and a metal stylus to make my score lines over the pencil marks. I was careful to stop when the lines intersected. Flip the card over and use the Woodgrain Stamp in Crumb Cake for the door detailing. Add brad for knob. The larger brad looks more realistic and proportional.
For the wreath, I ran a scrap of Wild Wasabi through the Petals – a – Plenty Embossing Folder first. I then punched the center from the 1 3/8 Circle Punch and then punched the outer part of the wreath with the 2 3/4 Scallop Circle Punch. The berries were markered with Real Red. It is popped up with Dimensionals.
That is it! So, are the holidays knocking at your door yet?
Happy Stampin’
Libby
