Ah, what a fabulous surprise it was!

A stampin’ friend/co-worker of mine celebrates one of *those* birthdays.

I’ll just cut to the chase with my card –

And, Tracy loved it. The surprise dinner her husband hosted for her that is. Oh, yes, and this card.

I know blue is one of Tracy’s favorite colors, so I went with Pool Party as my base. And, well, *these* birthdays black is usually a color of choice. So, I had to be subtle. I chose the Timeless Portrait DSP. The highlight of this card is the James Avery charm. The Large Oval Punch works nicely in the center of the Designer Frames Embossing Folder to make the charm just pop off the card. Of course, a little 5/8 Basic Black Grosgrain Ribbon helped too. The stamped sentiment is from Petite Pairs, currently, one of my most used stamps sets.

Well Jeremy, you did a great job for Tracy’s birthday! I think she loved it.

And Tracy, you will have to remove part of this card to wear your charm. Wear it with pride, of course! I can just make you another card!

12 Weeks of Gift Card Ideas ’til Christmas

Week 11.

Aaahhhh, inspiration. I am making gift card/money holders for 12 weeks, now 11 weeks until Christmas. And, it’s basically re-inventing improving the wheel.

So, how do I do that???? Well, this week the inspiration came from a Wednesday challenge.

Let’s see it unfolded. And, just look at the beauty inside.

Who would have thought to use a non-Christmas DSP paper, Timeless Portrait, as a Christmas paper? I know, right. But, it works! And, works so elegantly. I’m soo in LOVE with this card!

Here are some more shots. I just could not help myself. This is a Double Z Fold card.

This picture shows how my belly band is 1/8 wide (thanks Simply Scored) to accommodate the thickness of this multi-folded card.

I’ll say it again, I like LOVE this card! Although it was lots of work – my patterns just HAD to line up – I WILL be making more of these for gifts…..
