The Gift of Coffee

Giving the gift of coffee this year? Again? In the form of a gift card?

Well, if you are, the take a look at my share today. It was from my December Holiday Card Buffet. Nice, huh?

And, of course, it was made with the, currently on sale, Pop’n Cuts Die! I just love this die! I have used it almost as much as the Top Note!

I had stamped the lid and the band on scraps for everyone before the class. So they just stamped the whole cup again and cut out all those pieces. The oval is one of Stampin’ Up’s dies, the Oval Framelits and the DSP is the ever popular Season of Style.

It was a really quick card when it was said and, of course done. It was a favorite. Why? Because it’s too cute, or because coffee gift cards are ever so popular? You tell me.

Halloween Hello Gift Cards

Halloween hello gift card holders?

Wah! I wanted a tutorial. I know. It’s coming. Waking up at 5:00 am to make a tutorial before work is no easy task. Look for it tomorrow. Please.

But todays share is cute. I made some really quick, simple and adorable gift card holders to mail to family who is far away to receive the traditional Halloween treat. Sooo, a gift card is the next best thing. And, thanks to the Pop’n Cuts die and Washi tape – these were a snap!

I have found a couple of different folds to make gift cards from this die. I chose to go with both, for some added interest.

I also used some fun colors, like pink. Not a Halloween color, but, a girly color. I just kept applying the tape until it looked just right. You can see my variations. One went to a boy, so, I had to be a bit more masculine.

You have today to make creative treats for people – go get busy.

Rev Up The Fun

It’s Sunday, go out and ‘Rev Up the Fun’! Aka, go for a Sunday drive or if you’re in Houston, head out to the Houston Grand Prix.

My card share today is very appropriate I thought. I made this for my last Card Buffet and it will most likely be on it again. It’s manly. It’s a gift card holder. It’s awesome.

I just love this Pop’n Cuts Die. I really went past it several times in the catalog, simply because of the price. But, now that I have it, I have found it priceless. I use it a lot!

This card was inspired by Inkspired Treasures and I made mine a bit different, a gift card holder, but, you can see the similarities. I used up some retired brads that were colored by a sharpie. The added Washi Tape is the perfect touch to this card.

Go out and enjoy your Sunday, whether you rev it up or not!

Congratulation, Mr. & Mrs. Lange

Ah, weddings. Don’t you just love them?

They are such a special time in a person’s life. And, of course, so should the card and or gift! My post today is no different.

A longtime friend, Carolyn, now lives in Iowa. She used to live in Texas where we met through our daughters who attended preschool together – oh wow, some nearly 20 years ago! (Did you know that Carolyn??) It just literally dawned on me as I am writing this post! Gah!

Anyway, we’ve been friends for a long time. Her three girls have grown, my two have grown. Her middle daughter is getting married today! I am so happy for them. All the photos and writings of the couple to be – they seem so happy – so in love. He has been an active part in all the wedding planning too, it’s just been so sweet.

When I received the lovely wedding announcement I went into creative mode. I always like to match my cards as much as possible to the theme of whatever the occasion is. This is no different. And, it’s a wedding, so it has to be special.

I went with something simple. Something elegant. Something freakin’ gorgeous! I used the Pop’n Cuts Base to create a gift card holder. Take a look below. It matched the wedding announcement and response card perfectly. I was so thrilled with how it turned out. I think they will be as well.

A little on the making of the card. The base of the flower is a punched scalloped circle. It’s layered with little flowers from the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack until it was all filled. I curled them up on the tip of a pen for added dimension. Tombow helped secure them to the base. The Bird Punch made for some nice leaves to add to the flower. And, you can’t go wrong with the Designer Frames Oval as a background. It’s just stunning.

A very special card for a very special couple. Hears to many blessed years of marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Lange! I am so happy for you Allison and Patrick. And, for my dear friend Carolyn, and Dale, that their daughter found her special someone!
