Mushroom Thanks

Mushroom thanks? Well, what would you call this cutie?

This was one of three swaps I made for Leadership. Were you lucky enough to trade with me to get one?

I showcased lots of products here. First off, know what the green strip is? Know where the mushrooms came from?

I started with a DSP layer from the Polka Dot Parade paper pack.

I cut the green notecards from the new Watercolor Wonder Designer Note Cards into strips. Surprised, huh? They made such a nice background. And, in Libby fashion, these were repurposed. I just love to that.

The mushrooms are from the fun, new set, Life in the Forest. The fox seems to be the popular image from this set, I liked the mushroom. They reminded me of my daughter, who loves mushrooms. These were just punched and layered as you can see.

The side flags came from a new, upcoming punch (available during Sale-a-Bration) called, Banner Punch. It’s too cute. It also has a coordinating stamp set. A definite must have.

I just ran the same size strip of card stock across and stamped my greeting from yet another new stamp set, Happy Watercolor. Several of these products are from the new Occasions Catalog. If you haven’t checked it out, you should. Some very nice products. I want everything, as always.

Have Your Elf a Merry Little Christmas

Oh, soo much exciting stuff to share! Where oh where, do I start??

Well, I said I’d share how I made this adorable gift bag at my Card Buffet this past weekend.

Looking at him closely now, its pretty easy to see ‘how’ he was made.

Let’s start by gathering all the stuff you will need to complete him.

I used a smaller gift bag, If I recall, its 5 x 7 x 3.

I cut one Top Note out of Gumball Green. Cut in half, lengthwise. One of the halves, emboss with the Chevron Embossing Folder. The other Top Note half, cut in half again for the ‘shoes’.

For the shoes, I used two circle punches on the feet, the 1 3/8″ and the 3/4″. See my pattern below, it’s blue. To make the scallop socks, first, punch a 1 1/4″ circle, then punch the 1 3/4″ Scallop Circle out around that. I snipped off three scallops for each leg. (Note, you can get two pair of socks out of one scalloped circle!)

The balls on the shoes are 1/2″ Circles from Red Glimmer Paper.

The legs are the Real Red paper from Polka Dot Parade DSP Pack. It is the perfect pattern for these legs. I played around with a few. Legs are 3/4 x 6 each.

The tag says it all. The stamp set is from the Holiday Mini, Merry Little Christmas. I used a marker for the words and omitted the ‘s’ in self. I just scallop punched it afterwards and layered it with the Gumball Green and Real Red Circles. I did not show this, but my ribbon is in between the circle layers. Looks more finished. And, this way, you can write in the back of your tags!

Ok, assembly of this gem.

Start by using two Dimensionals on the shoes. Place them at the bottom of the bag. Add a little SNAIL to each legs at the top and bottom. Insert leg in shoe and secure. Same with other leg. I moved them apart for character. Adhere Top Note with Sticky Strip or Tombow Green Glue. Covering top of legs. Add Glimmer balls to shoes. Add ‘socks’, I used Tombow Green Glue so they could be moved around for coverage. Then add the tag. Done!

Bats About You

Bats about you? Yep. I have cutest share today!

I saw this idea at Convention, a slider pull card, and knew I had to do this for a Halloween themed card.

I’m sharing it today for The Paper Players . It’s #166, trick or treat Halloween card or treat holder themed item.

I just love how it’s just – simply cute! It was really much easier to make after I figured it out. And, what a great use of those Peekaboo Frames you bought but haven’t used, right? This card worked nicely with the non-Halloween DSP, Polka Dot Parade. The card base is a standard card too. Although, this idea would be great for a post card style card. You could just write your message on the ‘pull’ part.

My Buffet attendees were lucky enough to make this one if they chose! How’s that for a WOW? It’s not your typical run of the mill easy card. It was a success.

I think now, I wast to design one for Christmas?

Sending Many Thanks

Need some Friday cheer? Well, here you go. But, it’s in the form of a thank you card today. I think this card looks, cheery!

This was one of the cards from my May Card Buffet. I know. I know. I’m just getting around to showing you another card, close up.

I struggled with this card right up until the class. I just could not get it right. But, this finished card, I was really pleased with! You should see all the scraps I had left! Not like me.

I got the Secret Garden stamp set and framelits in a bundle and was challenged by Carolyn to create something that would make her like this set. I think I achieved that. She like the card.

It was really an easy card to replicate. The random flowers make for a wonderful background. I liked the addition of the Hearts A Flutter Framelits making the little banner. The popped up leaf adds a little dimension. The ribbon turned over for the solid side, a little texture. Now, as you see the base is Basic Black. The Whisper White is actually folded, so that the inside is white and not black. Just something a little different. And, yes, it through everyone off in the class! Ah, I like to keep them on their toes!

Happy Day to You

Don’t you just love Mondays?

For me, it’s just another day in the week. I married a shift worker, so the typical M-F, 9 to 5 means nothing to me. However, I woke up feeling blah, so I couldn’t get it in gear to create something for a card challenge. I must be really ill, you’re thinking?

I have several cards from my May Card Buffet that I have not shared with you. So, that’s what I will do today. Share a buffet creation. I did include a photo of the May Card Buffet below. I’ll try to post more of those cards soon. There are some nice ones on there. See for yourself.

Back to my share for today. I really love these colors together, Pool Party and Rich Razzleberry. I am not a fan of the Rich Razzleberry by itself, but paired with Pool Party, it’s one of my favorites!

This was also a favorite at the buffet. A very clean, simple card. Sad that this Friendly Phrases greeting has retired. The button was from the Sale-a-Bration freebie too.

Guess I’ll get back to reorganizing my colors – ink pads and papers…….

Praying for You, Nancy

Have a friend that needs a boost? A quick card should do the trick, right? It should at least help. Take a look at my bright and cheery creation.

Yes, another one I got to stamp the other day. Yay! However, I did tweak it a bit. I needed a Praying for You card, it was originally a Birthday card. And, I added some retired ribbon. I felt it tied the card together a bit more. No pun intended. Sometimes you have to do that.

The Whisper White is actually all popped up on several Dimensionals. Yes, LOTS! It creates a stunning effect with the holes around the flower and the DSP in the background.

This card, as the title implies, is for Nancy. We attend a lot of stampin functions together. She had to have day surgery today. I am praying she will have no issues and recovery time to be minimal for her. She inspires me by her positive spirit. She never slows down, for anything! She is always busy, but somehow finds the time to see everyone and gets it all done.

That is why I chose bright colors for a card that has a more touching sentiment of, Praying for You. She is high-spirited. This card color reflects her personality.
