Welcome to our Thursday Create with Connie and Mary sketch challenge and last few days of Sale-a-bration!

Here is our newest color challenge –

Nice, fresh spring colors!

Here is how I used them –

I started with scraps in the colors for the sketch! I placed the different size strips on a Very Vanilla base.

I added a piece of the gorgeous Golden Garden Designer Specialty Acetate over the top of the strips. Look how nice –

To adhere it, I used a strip of Tear & Tape along the top card stock strip. To hide that, I added the pretty Gold 3/8″ Metallic Edge Ribbon and tied it in a bow.

The sentiment is funny. Approaching Perfection. It is a Sale-a-bration option too.

Super cute sentiments for a variety of birthdays!

Happy Try Stampin’ on Tuesday!

Here is our latest 2 week challenge –

Optional Theme : Stripes

How about a simple Christmas card?

Doesn’t get any more simpler than this!

Both pattern papers are from the Magnolia Lane Designer Series Paper pack. The smaller, flower patters was colored with a Real Red Blends marker. The flowers were white.

I corner notched that piece adding a bow and the tag. Merry Christmas is from To Every Season stamp set. It has a nice fall variety of sentiments and images.

So easy you don’t even need a Christmas paper for this!

Directions –

start with Gold Foil Edged Cards & Envelopes
Very Vanilla 5 1/16 x 3 15/16
emboss using Country Floral
framelit cut CONGRATS in Gold Foil (from Sunshine Wishes thinlits)
8″ of Gold 3/8″ Metallic Edge Ribbon, tied in a bow
adhere embossed panel to card
adhere CONGRATS to card
adhere bow to card
done!

Don’t Box Me In – Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop

Happy Saturday my blogging friends! Time for a Create with Connie and Mary Saturday blog hop!

Our theme this week features boxes!

Handmade boxes are the best because you can customize them to just about any size you need. And, with all the fabulous Designer Series Papers Stampin’ Up has – you can’t go wrong!

I made this darling 3 x 3 box with a peachy top –

With an adorable tag to match –

I started with a Very Vanilla base of 7 x 7. Scored at 2 inches on all four sides. Make cuts and assemble, creating a basic open box.

The lid is (just retired) Whole Lot of Lovely Designer Series Paper cut at 6 x 6.

It is has two scores lines on all four sides. To make a snug fit on the lid, whatever your base is made of, take a straight scrap of the same card stock, fold it in half and place it on the left side of your Simply Scored to move the paper slightly away from the left side. Score at 1/2, and 1 1/2. You will cut away a few of the extra pieces, making this also a basic ‘box’ that is used as the lid.

I decorated the box when it was done! I cut a couple of peaches from the paper and stamped the perfect image from Beautiful Bouquet!
