Hello Monday. Hello Memorial Day.
I’d say Memorial Day is about correct in a different sense. A friend of mine had her husband’s funeral today. They had been married for 43 years.
I created a simple card to express my condolences to her –
The Love of Leaves also makes for a wonderful, serene sympathy card.
I randomly stamped the leaves in Sahara Sand and die cut the centers for the detailing.
Then I stamped the heartfelt sentiment over a leaf.
I had to create this piece twice. The first time, I stamped the sentiment one the leaf before detailing the leaves. Well, the stamped sentiment I guess wan’t all the way dry and was picked up on the clear plate used for cutting and transferred to other areas of the card.
I added the stamped panel to a piece of Early Espresso, softer than black in color, then onto a Crumb Cake base. I added the bow for additional softness.
I can not imagine her loss. My heart goes out to her and her family.
