Have you ever made a shaker card? I have in the past and they can be time-consuming!
I wanted to show my Card Buffet attendees how to make one. Meaning – it had to be an easy one.
I try to create a mix of easy and challenging cards at my Card Buffets. I like to also show a technique or two. I consider a shaker card a technique.
Here is what I came up with –
As you can see, it also incorporates the fold over style of card too. As my card is posing, look at it flipped up –
You can see sort of how I created the ‘shaker’ for this. I used a little 2×3 jewelry bag (found at the local craft store, in my case, in my arsenal of ‘stuff’), and cut one side down. This is a great idea because 3 of the sides are already sealed!
It was filled with 1/2 inch circles. I used washi tape to seal and adhere it to the inside of the card. The washi tape also looks decorative when the card is opened.
The base is measures 4 1/4 x 5 7/16, slightly less than 5 1/2. You need to allow room for the fold over part. The retired Sale-a-Bration Best Day Ever DSP is the same idea, narrow and slightly shorter.
This was a great way to show off this bundle and the Sale-a-Bration DSP. It was a big hit!
All in all, I accomplished having a more difficult ‘looking’ card to create, while showing a couple of techniques!
What do you think?
