Let’s get right to it. Yesterday I showed you these wonderful boxes I made for my Stamp Club 6 participants, they hold ink pads. I needed to make more, so I decided to snap some pictures so you could see how they were done.
So this is sort of a pictorial tutorial, I don’t do videos. Lol!
Start with a sheet of card stock, 8 1/2 x 10. (My directions will be below the picture.)
With the 10 inch side running across, score 1/2, 1 1/4, 5 1/4, and 6.
Rotate card stock. With the 8 1/2 inch side running across, score at 3/4, 5 1/2, and 6 1/4.
Remove sections that are marked through. (I also rounded the corners of the closure flap with a large corner rounder punch.)
Cut slits up the bottom 3/4 section. Add Sticky Strip in the places as I have done.
I had pre-stamped my Blackberry Bliss card stock panels using the Work of Art stamp set.
I adhered them to the opposite side of the Sticky Strip. I also stamped my ‘stamp’ on the back.
Because I made SO many of these, it was way easier to adhere the panels and apply Sticky Strip while box was flat.
Next, I assembled the box.
Adhere the long side of the box first, then the bottom.
Insert the stamp pad. See how nicely it fits? It’s just right.
Getting a little off track……I provide Dimensionals to my customers at my classes. However, I will remove the edge strips for later use. I just pull them off and re-stick them to an empty Dimensional sheet! They come in handy for project like this. Or areas where you need long Dimensionals, like shaker frames for instance.
I had already stamped my Watercolor Thank You in the same color. I punched it out using the 2 1/2″ Circle Punch.
I added 2 partial rows of Dimensionals to the back, lower, ‘You’ portion of the greeting.
I closed the flap on the box, THEN added the Dimensionaled circle. It’s raised on the box base, not the flap, that inserts underneath the circle. They are hold the lid closed.
And that is it. Done. Box finished.
Try one of these. I always make a pattern or test first – that way I know it works before using a ‘good’ sheet of card stock!
If you try this and find any problems, please let me know. Or if you have any questions or want to leave me a comment.
Happy Stampin’
